Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, 5cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day two.
Glass: Zalto Universal
Clear, medium golden, very youthful color. Clean, medium+ intense, youthful developing nose. On day one very pleasant, crushed stones, yellow stone fruit, some exotic fruit and Morstein typical smokiness. On day two a bit less appealing.
Dry, with some noticeable residual sugar. 13%abv. Quite racy acidity. Ripe exotic fruit. Dense, very deep, nice pressure on the palate and very long with lots of exotic fruit and crushed stones. Drink now or within the next 5+ years. 92-93

Flight 2 (1 note)

Clear, medium golden color. Medium+ intense, youthful nose with honey, spices, some vegetable notes, lots of yellow fruit, flowers, salt. Unfortunately drunk a bit too cold.
Dry, maybe with some tiny bit of residual sugar. Well integrated medium acidity, rich and complex aromas which covers the mouth for quite a while. Some nice bitter notes, yellow fruit, white pepper. Long finish. Very good Silvaner! 93. Very good PQR!

Pirate. Clear, medium garnet color. Clean, medium intense, youthful nose with lots of (artificial) cherry, some vanilla. Fine, airy and fruity.
Dry, with some noticeable residual sugar. 12,5%. Medium- acidity. Very fruity, lots of cherry notes. Juicy, round and uncomplicated to drink. Medium+ finish. Drink now or within the next 1-2+ years. 85-86

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
2005 Domaine Arlaud Clos de la Roche France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
91 points
*** brief notes from online blind tasting ***
Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, 5cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day two.
Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
This wine was way better on day one. At the tasting it was too chilled and I did not give it enough time to fully open up. At the last sip it showed a glimpse of day one.
Clear, medium garnet-tawny color. Clean, medium intense, developing nose. Aromas of fine oak, fine red fruit, some herbs, iron and tobacco. Airy and complex. On day two a bit muted/muffled.
Dry, high, quite racy and well integrated acidity. Medium, fine tannin, not as rough as I expected. 13,5% abv. On the palate fine red fruit, herbs, some subtle toasting notes. Beautiful texture, tension and depth. On day one for sure a very good PC or a mediocre GC. On day two more on a mediocre PC level. On both days the finish was very long and fine. Day one: 93, Day two: 90 = 91

Flight 5 (1 note)

Red
2007 Domaine Gourt de Mautens (Jérôme Bressy) Rasteau France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Rasteau
93 points
*** brief notes from online blind tasting ***
Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, 5cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day two.
Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Clear, deep, inky ruby color with very fine grained sediment.
Clean, medium intense, smoke, tar, clear cherry fruit, licorice. Very nice.
The wine is dry with lots of extract sweetness, medium acidity, high, firm tannin. High alcohol (14% abv) very well integrated. Full bodied and medium+ intense. Amarena cherry, more red fruit, licorice in a silky, velvet mouthfeel and a long finish. Still young with upscale potential. 93-94+

White
2017 Hofgut Falkenstein Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Kabinett Alte Reben Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

*** brief notes from online blind tasting ***
Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, 5cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day two.
Glass: Zalto Universal
Used as a “palate cleaner”. High, racy, but well integrated acidity. More off-dry, lots of extract, great tension. Juicy and mouthwatering. Airy and dancing on the tongue. Long, lingering and very fragrant finish. 90-91

Flight 7 (1 note)

White - Sweet/Dessert
2001 Château Rieussec France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
94 points
*** brief notes from online blind tasting ***
Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, 5cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day two.
Glass: Zalto Universal
Beautiful clear, medium glowing amber color. Clean, pronounced and extremely complex nose with dried apricots, figs, honey, orange peel, pine.
On the palate not too sweet. Sweetness is very well balanced by the acidity. Very complex with dried apricot, honey, sandalwood, figs, pine. Beautiful depth. Needs a lot of air and time. Looong and lingering finish. For me one of the best Sauternes of 2001, but not close to the otherworldly Yquem. 94-95+

Closing

Especially the Morstein and the Arlaud showed much weaker as on day one. I assume, I drunk the wines to cold and with not enough air.
But anyway, it was a lot of fun.
