2019 Les Cailloux Blanc
87 points
Tasted blind. Correctly identified as 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Slight golden color; A bit of toasty vanilla to accompany the tart grapefruit and gooseberry. Leaner than expected if it were blended with Semillon. Does see some barrel age.

2015 Château Bois Noir
88 points
Tasted blind. Correctly identified as Merlot dominant Bordeaux (Superior, Medoc, or surrounding areas).
A bit more medium ruby in color than a better structured Right Bank Merlot. Smokey tobacco, green pepper, and plum. Good length to the chewy palate, but lacks the finesse of a better wine and runs a bit hot.

2015 Pauillac de Latour
90 points
Tasted blind. Incorrectly identified as Pomerol.
Deep garnet; A bit of mushroom on the nose to go with red pepper, currant, plum. Ripe blueberry, herbs, and spice accompany the dry, dusty tannins. Soft, yet quite rich.

2006 Château Phélan Ségur
87 points
Tasted blind. Correctly identified as a Left Bank classified growth.
Deep garnet; Cedar, tobacco, plum, cherry, and lead pencil/graphite on the nose. Musty palate with dry tannins that don't reveal much. Perhaps a bad bottle or something that needs a vigorous decant.

2014 Château Lafleur Saint-Jean
90 points
Taste blind. Incorrectly identified as 10-year-old St. Emilion.
Similar notes as before, but this bottle seemed a bit more advanced. Earth, truffle, mint, and roasted pepper make quite the show on the palate. Aromas of dried cherry, plum, and cedar are quite pronounced on the nose. Very good to outstanding wine that doesn't lack intensity. Structure and tannin not what a good/great vintage would be. Drink now.

2010 Château Langoa Barton
92 points
Tasted blind. Incorrectly identified as an older (10-15-year-old) Margaux.
Deeper garnet, light bricking; Really intoxicating nose of cassis, dried herbs, leather; Elegant, refined tannins that leave a refreshing note of plush cherries and mint lingering in the mouth. Screams class.

White - Sweet/Dessert
2003 Château La Tour Blanche Sauternes
94 points
Tasted blind but only Sauternes of the tasting (which I brought).
Perfectly drinking Sauternes. Killer notes of honey, apricot, and pineapple marmalade, and a delightfully playful note of creamy vanilla spice on the non-cloying palate. LONG finish and helluva intensity in the mouth.

2018 Château Bel-Air
91 points
Tasted blind. Deeper colored - dark garnet, nearly purple. Balanced acid to tannin ratio; rich mouthfeel of red currants, licorice, pepper, and mint. Enjoyable and rather approachable for Bordeaux.
