Not much more to add to my note from July. Very lean, fresh and precise. Still very young with a great potential. Consistent with my previous rating: 94+

Expresses for me the complicated vintage. Color a bit darker than the 2003 P2 we had earlier. Botrytis and caramel notes. Lacks precision, pressure and energy compared to 2004 and 2008. Drink now, I doubt that it will get any better. 90-91

Popped and poured. Not much more to add to my note from April this year. You are currently drinking potential, even though it makes fun. It needs a lot of air to open up and should not be drunk too cold.
With some temperature it unfolds a beautiful complex, smoky and stony nose. On the palate lovely energy and tension, even though it cannot deny the warm vintage with lots of ripe, warm fruit. Give it 3-5+ years to fully shine. 94-95+

Tasted blind. Popped and poured. Deep, youthful color. Nose with lots of warm, ripe fruit, soft and elegant.
On the palate warm, ripe fruit, lots of amarena cherry. Silky texture. Creamy mouthfeel. Craves for a bloody steak :) Very good wine at the edge of beeing too fat or broad, but never crossing it. Lacks a bit of tension and energy to be really great. But nevertheless a beautiful wine. 91-92

DO NOT OPEN NOW. Repeat this 100 times! Screw fruit phase etc. IMHO there are only two options: Either it is not meant to be opened now and will develop the GRE notes I so admire in mature GREs in 10+ years or it is just a cheap copy of past glory.
Don't get me wrong it is a very good wine: Beautiful color, good texture, present tannin, good acidity. But it lacks the complexity and depth of mature GREs. Wait at least 10+ years. For now 90-91.

Classic left bank BDX. Drinks well now, good structure and texture. Lots of warm, ripe deep fruit. Lacks a bit depth and length to reward hirer ratings. Potential? Hard to say. My gut feeling tells me that it will not improve significantly, but I might be wrong. 91-92

2007 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Auslese #10 Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

From half bottle. Popped and poured. Classic Schaefer elegance and balance, paired with lots of ripe fruit. Compared to the 2004 it has more weight and lacks a bit of tension. Nevertheless a very delicious wine with upscale potential for at least another decade.

From half bottle. So fresh and precise, feather like mouthfeel and laser sharp acidity. Beautiful wine, beautiful experience. Pressure and tension combined with Schaefers balance and harmony. Long and lingering finish. Drink now or within the next 20 years. But it is already so intriguing... 94+
