Tasted September 17, 2021 by Woodbridge Brad with 20 views

After a two year break we gathered again, thanks to to Bernie Orsi and Joe Ciatti. Old Timers is a bunch of CA wine people who have each been leaders in the business for decades.

Flight 1 - Highlights (4 notes)

We had many more wines than this, but these were some standouts

2017 Robert Hall Zinfandel Cavern Select Dusi Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles
91 points
Complex and balanced, classic Dusi Zinfandel more black the and spices than berry jam. Not hot or sweet with RS, very balanced and supple.
2017 Scott Harvey Barbera Cattedrale USA, California, Sierra Foothills, Amador County
94 points
Very balanced and supple despite a 15.2% alc. Complete and very supple. Loved it
2015 Orsi Family Sagrantino USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley
90 points
Very voluptoius and complex, balanced acid and tannin structure. Seems to be fully evolved, aromatically less fruit more complex spice, less varietally district but the personality is lovely as it is, great with food.
2019 Macchia Zinfandel Mischievous Old Vine USA, California, Central Valley, Lodi
90 points
Less sweet than other Macchia wines, good Zinfandel complexity, still a bit hot but quite nice.
