6 friends, 6 wines, with some interesting discoveries in Italy

Flight 1 (6 notes)

2019 Fontanavecchia Falanghina del Sannio Taburno Italy, Campania, Falanghina del Sannio
88 points
Brilliant straw yellow.
Very elegant at nose, mainly agrunes, sweet flowers (acacia) on an almonds' bakground.
Velvety to the palate. Well balanced thanks to a fresh minerality. Closes with agrumes' hints.
Opulent, but not heavy.
2019 Piccini buon governo Toscana IGT Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
85 points
Ruby red.
Intense, but not complex at nose: Ripe, jammy red fruits (cherries), some red flowers.
Well balanced at taste, with a nice acidity, and a rich structure, almost viscous. Smooth, fruity long ending on elder notes.
2015 Vinica Lame Del Sorbo Tintilia del Molise Italy, Molise, Tintilia del Molise
82 points
Very dark ruby red.
Intense and complex at nose, ematic hints, red oranges, liquorice, dried roses up to graphite notes.
Not an easy wine to drink. Lacking harmony, with detached tannins and components. Mainly with fruity notes. Complex, but not fine. Anarchist natural wine.
2017 Masseria Li Veli Susumaniello Salento IGT Italy, Puglia, Salento IGT
86 points
Thick ruby red.
Ripe red fruits at nose, red oranges, strawberry grape, violets. Some balsamic notes. Very fine.
Smooth and fresh, well balanced, with a light, pleasing sweetness.
Long persistance on fruity notes.
2018 Cantina Aldeno En Opere Castel Beseno Italy, Trentino-Alto Adige, Trentino, Trentino Superiore
84 points
Golden yellow.
Nice nose, with notes of Candy cedar zest, sage, maracuja and dates.
Very refreshing and mineral at taste, but lacking some structure and body.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2020 Zinzani Calore della mia vita Italy, Emilia-Romagna, Vino da Tavola
82 points
Golden yellow.
Sweet and balsamic notes of honey and menthol.
Thinner than I expected at taste, but overall well balanced, with good acidity.

Very interesting session. My very first time with Susumaniello and Governo toscano and very happy with it.
