Flight 1 (11 notes)

White
2003 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Chardonnay Sonoma County USA, California, Sonoma County
[$13] dominated by apple, a little acerbic
White
2003 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Chardonnay Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
[$25] apple, lemon zest, vanilla; Crisper, cleaner, more mild than the Sonoma
Red
2003 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Barbera USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley
Asian spice and raspberry, mocha. Not a bad wine; has some nice notes. But not even a huge fan of Barbera from Piedmonte and I have never enjoyed a Piedmonte wine from outside of its native region.
Red
2003 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
[$15] Spice and strawberry, with earthy undertones; balanced. Superior to the more expansive Carneros bottling.
Red
2003 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Zinfandel Old Vines USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley
[$24] Earthy with tea, blackfruit, pepper
Red
2000 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Merlot Sonoma County USA, California, Sonoma County
[$17] On the nose blueberry, black fruit, and herbs; on the palate, black fruit, oak. A standout among Cali Merlots in this and most other price ranges.
Red
2001 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County USA, California, Sonoma County
[$17] jammy blackberry on the nose and palate; mild, integarated tannins; one of the better cabs for <$20 available
Red
2002 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Secolo USA, California, Sonoma County
[$30] blackberry/cherry, coffee, and vanilla
Red
2003 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County USA, California, Sonoma County
[barrel sample] grassy, tight lacking any fruit.
Red
2002 Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Cherryblock Sonoma Valley USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley
[$75] on the nose, jammy blackberry, oak. Dark fruit and cherry on the palate. Well integrated and balanced. A nice wine, but wouldnt buy it at half the price.
