Clear, deep golden color. Clean, beautiful and fully developed nose. Some brioche and lots of warm, good caramel.
On the palate surprisingly stable and fine Mousseux. Lots of caramel, creme brulee. Still fresh, beautiful acidity, very deep, good pressure, beautiful balance and harmony, great length. Champagne at its very peak! 94-95

Considering the complicated vintage this is certainly a success. Fully mature, some caramel, a bit lean/meagre, medium- acidity, medium length. Really good. 88-89

Table wine. Beautiful suprise. Still fresh and rather young. Deep ruby color, lots of green notes, green pepper, good length. Top PQR. 88-89

Deep, garnet color. A bit artifical fruit, round, concentrated a bit taste of fruit liquor. Lacks a bid of acidity. Good length. Drinks well. 87

Unfortunately my weakest bottle. Cork felt into bottle, so we had to decant the wine. Nose was beautiful right at pouring, but it did not like the 1h decanting. Deep ruby, glowing color. Nose still nice with some tobacco and leather. On the palate still nice, deep and long, some tobacco, stems, but only a shadow of what it could be. Bad luck 88-90

Unfortunately corked. What a pitty.

Deep ruby, youthful color. Interesting, fresh nose with some funky medicinal notes (band aid). On the palate fresh and young, beautiful acidity and tannin, very fine fruit, pressure, depth, very good length. Such a surprise! 93-94

Another beautiful suprise: Deep, ruby garnet color. Very fine and elegant nose. On the palate bold and firm, but also round and balanced. Good, fine acidity, medium tanning, very good length. 91-92

Deep, youthful ruby color. Deep and complex nose, pencil shavings, tobacco, stems. Really beautiful.
On the palate very fresh and young. Fantastic acidity, great texture and structure. Still a lot of cassis, spices and herbs. Wonderful complex and deep. Very long and lingering. My WOTN! 95-96

Youthful and fresh bottle. A bit lactic nose, some barn, graphite and cedar wood. Lean body, good pressure and depth, mellow, medium tannin. Very good length. Great PQR. 92

Unfortunately corked.

Rioja at its full peak! Deep garnet color. Classic mature Rioja nose with fine tobacco, leather and dried red fruit. On the palate very fine, high acidity, beautiful balance and harmony. Potential for another decade on this level. 92-93

Interesting wine. Seemed closed and very young (too young???). Some ethereal, herbaceous notes, very lean. Good length. 90-91

Tasted blind. Deep ruby color. Nose was quite close and Cabernet driven. On the palate lots of red fruit, high, almost racy acidity, high tannin. Very compact and dense. Still too young? It doesn't seem to be at its full peak yet... Great potential, but this bottle was not a great wine, but still very good. 92-93

Medium deep garnet color. Fine, complex hermitage nose with some smoke and bacon also with some fresh red fruit. Quite youthful. Cherry and Cassis, bacon fat, good tension and depth. Very long. 93. Such a surprise for this challenging Hermitage vintage!

Popped and poured. Pale golden color. Very mineral, energetic nose. On the palate off-dry, but not too sweet. Classic "red slope" orange notes, very mineral, complex and deep, but also fresh and juicy with an exciting tension. Rather cool. Long, lingering finish. Still a teenager that can evolve for 5+ years. 93+

Sauternes that no one needs. Good, but boring and exchangeable.

Climens gets more and more into my personal Top 5 in the Sauternais. Not too much botrytis in here, rather clean, good tension and length, fine and with potential of another decade. 90-91
