Sweet dark wild berries, very young tasting, big candied spice, sandalwood, sweet tobacco, bright acidity. Reminded me of a KB. Can't believe it's 9 years old?!?! My fav of the night.

Muted at first....opened to bright cherry/raspberry, candied spice, tart cranberry citrus acidity. Later on, age crept in, showed a little tawny-ness, orange peel acidity. Lightest wine.....not bad, but least favorite.
Red
1999 Witch Creek Winery Pinot Noir De Vere Reserve Garys' Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands

Dark plum, rhubarb fruit....earth tones, Christmas spice, pine sap, high toned acidty. Very different, with the sap thing, from the others.
Red
1999 Arcadian Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands

Ahhhh....Garys' funk! Now this is what I think of in a Garys' Pinot. Nice dark berry, sassafras, sandalwood, cherry pie crust, slight acidic tingle. Great balance...with the funk giving that extra complexity. Again....these 99's are holding up very very well.

1999 Testarossa Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands

Beautiful softness and balance....wild berry, plum fruit...orange peel acidity, potpourri spice, cinnamon. The best balanced wine of the bunch....a true joy to drink.
