Introduction

We decided to try a new place in Soho. i think the chef is formerly from Zafferano. there is a bar to sit at and eat at in the front and tables in the back. Place was full and buzzing.
the menu offers small and large plates so we decided to share a bunch of small plates
the highlights were: a great salad of Shaved radish, celeriac & pecorino salad with pomegranates & truffle oil, a very fresh plate of fish/seafood cruda, veal agnolotti in butter and sage, pasta with lobster, mussels and ginger, a very good bisteca florentina, a sausage that had foie gras and other tasty things inside....
there were a number of other good dishes as well
the service was friendly and very good and corkage was £10pb
all and all a very good experience

Lunch @ Bocca di Lupo - open for approx 2 hours before drunk, lemon yellow color. on the nose a touch of sweet floral fruit but not tropical, minerally and citrus, in the mouth very lively and vibrant, med high-high acidity and very linear, a great mix of lemony citrus and a long linear acidity, super balanced. very drinkable but a long life ahead of this wine. great way to start

Lunch @ Bocca di Lupo- opened/decanted approx 5 hours. purple color. on the nose lead, forest, touch of cedar. in the mouth the balance was great, touch of dark fruits mixed with some pauillac lead pencil. the wine was very focused and lead you from front of the mouth to mid palette to the finish. great balance, long finish. still evolving but starting to drink. great food wine

Lunch @ Bocca di Lupo- decanted at the table- dark almost black color, darkest wine of the 3 reds at lunch. purple and black fruits on the nose, smelled young. big bold mouthful of wine. tasted ripe, young but soft sweet cali fruit, the tannins were very soft but they were all there. this was an easy drink and the bottle disappeared quite quickly. the wine came across as still on the upswing and with a long tasty life ahead of it

Lunch @ Bocca di Lupo- Decanted at Lunch. purple color, a touch of ligthening around edges, restrained on the nose at first, then some creamy purple fruit showed itself. in the mouth this was voluptuous, rich, ripe and very focuse, also very easy to drink. med long finish and in a great window currently as it is still giving ripe fruits but also some dry silky tanins and secondary flavors. "the Petrus of California" as someone at the table said. i could drink this quite often!!!
