Introduction

These were all popped and poured with friends and family during the evening with various appetizers and beef tenderloin.

Flight 1 (9 notes)

White
2007 Sbragia Family Sauvignon Blanc Home Ranch USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley
Medium gold. Rish smelling touch of creamy oak. Medium-full bodied creamy grapefruit. Similar tangy grapefruit palate. Upon revisiting it seemed a little more restrained. This is good.
White
2007 Darioush Viognier USA, California, Napa Valley
Light gold color. Sweet smelling apricot syrup nose. Big rich sweet apricot and peach fruit on the palate. Honeysuckle. Little bit of cereal on the nose, not sure if this sees much oak. Rich. Hedonistic. Maybe a little syrupy for some palates, but I like it. $37.
White
2005 Pride Mountain Vineyards Viognier USA, California, Sonoma County
Light nose of cereal and honey. Touch of lemon? Medium-full bodied rich honeysuckle. Late tangy acidity. This was drinking better than I feared.
Red
1997 Pride Mountain Vineyards Merlot USA, California, Napa Valley
Touch muddy black fruit on the nose. Mocha menthol. A bit dried out a dusty. Past its prime.
Red
2000 Pride Mountain Vineyards Merlot USA, California, North Coast, Napa / Sonoma
Bitter chocolate dry dust nose. Medium-full bodied with black currant and some menthol. Drinking better than the 1997 we opened alongside, but I suggest drinking up.
Red
2006 McPrice Myers Beautiful Earth USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles
High-toned, somewhat gamy funky initially. Olive tapenade. Full bodied red berry fruit. Saddle leather and earth. Pretty darn good. Nice "sweetness." Revisiting, i thought the Grenache really added some nice complexity to this. Great QPR at $27.
Red
2004 Audelssa Estate Winery Summit Mountain Estate, Mountain Terraces USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley
Minty tannin. Touch dry and dusty. Dark fruit with a slight something like graphite. Just okay.
Red
2004 Hartford / Hartford Court Zinfandel Dina's Vineyard USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
High toned raspberry jam fruit. Touch of raisin. Pretty tasty. Little bit of late tea and tangy acidity. This seems quite youthful still. I tasted again the next day and still enjoyed it quite a bit. Really nice raspberry fruit.
Red
2006 Carlisle Zinfandel Montafi Ranch USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Rich creamy blackberry jam and blackberry fruit including seeds. Rich tangy black fruit again on the palate. I didn't find this bottle as sweet as the last. Open for business. Good.
