Had at D'Vine Wine bar tasting...simple light, easy drinker...not offensive. might be ok to drink in the summer poolside. The Coors light of wines. Meh

2008 Masciarelli Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Italy, Abruzzi, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

Had at D'Vine Wine bar tasting. A Trebbiano that makes you say "How you doin' ". More golden in color than I would have expected with medium body. Crisp acidity and Green apples on the palate. had a bit of complexity going on and was pretty tasty. I would buy this wine.

Tasted as a PnP at d'Vine wine bar tasting.A great nose of powerful dark and red fruit that jumps out of the glass. But on the palate, this wine definitely needed some more air time. Very tight and tannic, you can get some dark fruit and good acidity in the mouth. I think this wine would go good with food and as a sipper. I liked it and thought it a good QPR (at under $10)...would like to try again after it was open for a while

2007 Tabor Cabernet Sauvignon Israel

PnP at d'Vine wine bar tasting. My first wine from Israel. Needs some airtime as it is tight and tannic. Big time black liquorish on the palate. Nice backbone, fairly one-note but still pretty good.
Red
2006 Renzo Masi Chianti Rùfina Riserva Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Rùfina

PnP at a d'Vine wine bar tasting. classic sour cherry profile with a nice level of fruit, bone dry, medium body, nice balance...the kind of wine that doesn't blow you away but tastes good and would go great with a nice bowl of pasta. Pretty good effort...87+ points

2002 Ocone Aglianico del Taburno Italy, Campania, Aglianico del Taburno

pnp at d'Vine wine bar tasting. Though drinking window on this site shows 2008, you could still taste the tannins...this wine is not dead yet. Old world wine. Barnyard and poop mixed with Raspberry and a hint of spice on the finish. Though not bad now, I think this wine would do better with some food.
Red - Sweet/Dessert
N.V. Olde Shandon Port Works Syrah KODA USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles

Had as last wine of the d'Vine wine bar tasting. Consensus WOTN and definitely my choice... Chocolate infused port styled wine (made from Syrah grapes). The key word is chocolate, not a hint of chocolate...but principal taste of chocolate right on the attack, then settles into a more classic port taste on the finish, with some hazelnut and syruppy taste. Great capper to a meal, would pair awesomely with a Creme-Broulet or maybe a vanilla mousse. Interesting and tasty...
