Maybe 87...price is great at 15 CAN, new product in a line of about 6 other Prosecco's i can get at Provincial wine store. Process is my general go to sparkling wine for value, and this one does deliver, but after some thought, perhaps not quite up to the others...FYI - the package is a little over the top with very ornate bottle (for those who pay attention to marketing strategy), but down to earth on the palate! Nose is light with non-discript grapefruit/citrus note. Palate has nice sharp frizz ante quality and acid. Fruit is again per nose, a little hard to pin down, vaguely bitter grapefruit with rapid transition to citrus notes. Nice on a hot, almost Fall day, while BBQ'ing simple fare...give this a try beside another Prosecco and see what you think.

Better yet, during this last week or so of summer, go for a Prosecco tasting on patio with friend and explore sparkling wine from the old school experts, affordable and fun!

Low priced CB from Kenaston Wine Market. Gave this a try as i have recently had chance to sample a variety of CB's from South Africa as i was in the area! This is a decent example, med+ bodied, light acid and dense fruit that is a little spicy, with stewed fruit/apple notes. A little tight on the taste profile, but enjoyable. Maybe try again in 2016.

New from Opimian...2 yrs old and drinks pretty decent now. A little smokey nose with brambly fruit...Palate is med bodied and med acid - fruit is again a little musty, tobacco with dark fruit. Medium finish that carries over the acid and a tad bitter note on the fruit.

Would be curious to see this age 1-2 yrs. Price is low and good QPR.

Have had a few other "Pecorino's", and have enjoyed - this bottle is similar in taste and experience and price...Great QPR ~14$ CAN, served chilled is awesome for summer and casual sipping in late afternoon before dinner and would match to a variety of fare. Nice med acid, round slightly herbal with a tropical fruit note. Not complex, but just tasty and refreshing.

Solid buy and enjoy over next 2 years.

89-90 for sure. Is a pricey bottle and i would echo Zweder's notes from back in Feb of 2015. Drinks nice now but essentially at its peak?

I don't like the oaky notes on the palate, but is smooth, complex and tasty mixed with the right food...I may just try and find a more recent vintage to replace this one for the next 5 yrs...

In my experience this comes off as a fairly standard, well made Rose with the typical profile, and thankfully not off-dry...The price is rock bottom in my locale - 12$ CAN - so the QPR is spot on and a nice Rose for summer sipping.

New, highly "graphical" label and marketing strategy that strays from the usual French wines on the shelf...lower price ~15$ CAN. This is mix of Grenache/Carignan/SB. I'm pleasantly surprised at the QPR of the whole package, and this is a nice simple easy going white that i think most folks would enjoy chilled over summer...great for early/late afternoon sipping.
Nose is light white fruit. Palate is also light, a little watered down perhaps, but enjoyable in that it has light acid, mellow apricot, and white stone fruit notes.
Would not hold up especially well with heavy food, but would match with "Summer" in general...give this a try!

20$ CAN @ MLCC - New Portuguese vino on shelf...lots of high marks for the 2012 vintage. This is a little bit of a fruit bomb in sense of a little artificial dr. pepper quality/cough syrup quality to this. Nice, given that comment. Needs a slight chill and at least 1 hour decant (or hold till winter 2016 and +/- 3 yrs).

Outside of the above - this is a dark and rich vino with cassis/plum fruit with sharp acid and light/medium coating tannin. Serve with Bbq fare over summer or otherwise complex food during winter months...

As per the 2012 note - similar profile - nice and complex for lower price ~20$ CAN...Tropical fruit notes, a little spice, and Grapefruit note that come together in nice harmony on finish. Better with food vs. solo...2 yrs old and will hold and mature i would think for 2+ yrs more.

19$ @ MLCC - similar to producer's other PG's in past ...dark nose of light stewed apples...palate is med bodied and light acid. Deeper, complex fruit that is a little tropical and a little stewed apple...a little difficult to pin down. Nice enough regardless.

Quick note on the recent release...Nose is a little petrol like and interesting....palate is light/med bodied with some light stewed apple fruit, light acid...simple and non descript otherwise. Decent for price and will let settle over next 6 months before another go.

New, decent, low priced rose - would be fine for any day drinking on hot summer day. After a few sips, kind of boring with non-descript red fruit...decent, but would not seek out again.

tasty stuff, rose from Italy - and rings true from my note from 2009. Great low price. Simple enough to drink during hot summer on the deck, or pair with summer time fare off the BBQ. Light nose of cherry/strawberry and palate is refreshing, with subtle strawberry/floral note...but again is very subtle, and overall is a 1 dimensional wine, but comes together in a nice way. Buy.

So, decent enough, but for young crowd in my opinion. Low price 15$ CAN. New product line "Malkina" from the formidable producer Trapiche. Their rose is tasty FYI. This is young and may mature over next 2-4 yrs - but is a hair off-dry, slightly manufactured quality to it with dark cherry/slight cassis note to this on palate. Not offensive, better served a hair chilled over the summer and again, would appeal to a wide crowd exploring wine.

Another new wine from recent festival from a solid, massive producer...first time in Canada - 25$ - great QPR IMO...will last as well i would suggest out till 2018. Nose is lush with dark rasperry/blackberry fruit with some lighter tobacco/floral rose qualities. Palate is pretty much full bodied, nice light tannin/acid but fruit is upfront, restrained and again dark and lushish. Mix of brambly berry fruit, lightly smoked spice/pepper...complex and deserving of some more experienced palates to decode! I would buy a couple to sample into the next 3 years.

Another nice expression of SB from NV...new from wine fest in YWG. ~19$ CAN. Tropical and light herbal nose. Palate is tart, and has nice level of acid. Fruit is again tropical, white with some subtle green/grass on finish. A little grapefruit buried in there also. 1 year young, and will do fine out till at least 2017. Screw top. Good QPR.

~24$ CAN @ MLCC. Overall impression is that of a subdued and more nuanced vino. You can taste the terroir and history (early 1800's). That sounds pretty cliche - but fits. Softer, round profile with an earthy component that surrounds the fruit which is a mix of dark cherry and lighter raspberry. I enjoyed a little more with a hint of a chill on this.

Decent price 15$ CAN - this Portuguese vino is blend of Alvarinho and Chardonnay. Nose is light. Palate is med bodied with med- acid and fruit is honey/stewed apple and maybe some melon.

Nice package, a little heavy and i would like a little more acid. Nice experience that is a little different than the mainstream...

Good price ~ 20 CAN - and will hold in cellar for a few more years still (?2018). Give it a try!

Just about a perfect red at this low price point, and i've had a few different varietals/products from producer and have been surprised at consistent high marks from my palate!

This is a med+ bodied Red - blend of 5 grapes, 50% Carm/30% Cab. Nose is light with oak and dark fruit. Palate is smooth and has nice level of dark fruit qualities, some sour dark cherry and maybe hint bitter almonds. Finish is long with again a light oak note.

I think will be fine in cellar for a few years at least, maybe will develop a little more complexity, but drinks great now.

I think has some character, but is thin, med- acid, and rapidly becomes a little bitter and sour white fruit qualities...ya, doesn't really make sense and comes through on palate...

Price is a little steep to go and try this...~20 CAN. Grape is interesting. I would not suggest same. Check out Vinos Guerra and their take on this grape...

Nice, light and simple rose, that is tasty, easy drinking and has low price point such that it gets a 1+ point....overall the flavour profiile is a dry Rose, with light 1-2 dimensional ripe cherry/berry fruit note. I would serve this for any summer BBQ before and during dinner and would guess that folks would rave!

New product of shelves in CAN - can't find reference on producer website...

Fairly straight forward profile, and I think fairly inline with majority of PG or even some SB's i've sampled...nose and palate are pretty much a unified package of fairly assertive grapefruit qualities, with perhaps some melon notes on finish...decent enough and complex enough to serve with variety of food...

Good example of a white needing to air...perhaps a heavy hitter of a SB - 14.5% ETOH, nose is vague, and palate is a little grassy with an overlying theme of light grapefruit inspired tropical fruit notes... slight bitter notes on the finish. Nice enough package, best enjoyed with food...the acid is a little light for me.

The note from VENICECALIF from ~2013 is accurate for my palate and liked his summary that this is not for me, but worthy of some respect!

Overly rich, full+ bodied, syrupy red with a few layers of complexity...needs decanting and clearly complex food. Still to much fruit/sugar for me...needs more structure. 1-2 sips is plenty.

Dark blackberry fruit on nose with some light eucalyptus...Palate is med to pretty much full bodied. Light acid/tannin such that this is smooth, but rich with the fruit...resonates from nose. Finish is long, with fruit flavours, slight smoke and a hair of cough syrup. Benefits from a slight chill and good food.

Another great GV that is 3 yrs old now and drinking fine till at least 2016/17. Screw top. Great QPR ~20 CAN. Nice crisp, clean and has nice notes of light apple, spice, and tropical fruit quality on finish. A little bitter at the end, but is a nice foil. Read the other notes as all accurate according to my palate. Would be a great summer time house wine before and during dinner (lighter fare - salad/fish...)

This is an awesome, perfect for my palate Rose for summer. The other notes are in line with my, but really not sure how this can get better...low'ish price, fresh off vines (will last for a couple of years easy), and has perfect balance of acid/freshness/somewhat complex fruit, and comes out at the end as very tasty, nice dry rose. Drinks great on its own or mix with any type of food...from popcorn and movie to BBQ i would suggest!

For style - I think this nails it, and low price. What i would like for nice summer white that is easy drinking solo in early afternoon, and with summertime fare. Light+ bodied, light acid with fruit that is a little vague but maybe some grassy/light tart stone fruit with a dash of herbs? Not as bad as it sounds :). Highly suggest folks to at least put a couple in the cottage case and see what you think!

Nice new wine from local Wine Festival. Essentially a special release PG from producer. Nose is slight oxidized/sherry like (subtle) otherwise some stewed fruit(apple?). Palate is med+ bodied, with a nice frizzante quality and light+ acid. Fruit is darker, and a clear riff on nose with stewed apple/white fruit and tart at that. Assertive, nice with lighter fare.

Well, very pricey for this blend of 4 varietals (cab f and merlot being majority). Yes, smooth and full bodied dark fruit, fairly tasty. For me - the oak is forward and gives a vanilla/smokey component that is a little much for me. Distracts from the fruit. Good match with BBQ and heavy fare, maybe not best choice for summer...Will do ok for 2-4 more years in bottle - and will leave till 2017.

This is the latest vintage of this great vino with a price point that is a little above average but ~25 CAN. Nose is awesome with dark blackberry/casis/tobacco...Palate is med+ bodied, with nice light acid and very smooth tannin. The fruit and flavour profile is again like the nose - bright dark cherry, chocolate, and on the finish a little subtle tobacco perhaps. This is young perhaps and will do well in cellar for at least a couple of years - out till 2017+ and maybe longer. Producer is solid.

It has been a couple of years since last go at this, and I must say is really tasty stuff for low price and what i enjoy in a White vino this time of year and coming summer. This drinks great solo and with lighter fare. Nose is tropical fruit and some grapefruit. Palate is easy going with med- acid and similar fruit as per nose. Finish med. Served chilled, this just sings and would suggest this could be a great "house white" for the masses if you can find it.

Nice SB for price ~22 $ CAN at Deluca in YWG. Distinct mixed tropical fruit nose. Palate is med/full bodied i would say and a little creamy side with light acid and more full on tropical fruit/stone fruit qualities. Finish is med with grapefruit type note. Nice package, i would like something a little more crisp. Enjoy.

Decent QPR for this. Nose is deep, dark and full of dark cherry note. Palate is med acid, med- tannins and smooth drinking. A little to much of a fruit bomb (pulls this off though) for me. Dark cherry covered fruit, some chocolate and some smoke...need to serve this a little cool.

Nice, but pricey - above average price point for this, barely meets QPR in my opinion. Nose is aromatic, muted. Palate is med bodied with light acid. Fruit is a little tight and hard to tease out more than it is pleasant with aromatic fruit, and perhaps a flinty element on the soft finish...very nice drinking with food.

Antonio Galloni has a 90 pt review and my palate would agree with his experience. Multilayer fruit in here with med acid...melon/white fruit/tropical notes. Perhaps still a little muddled and needs some actually decanting and food...nice for a white that is now 5 yrs old, and could easily stand up till 2018 I would think...May try this again in 2017.
