No fireworks here but dependable quality from Baudry. Quite rich and generous in the mouth. Lacks acidity to age but very enjoyable now - drink soon! A crowd pleaser style. These warm vintages are not doing any favours to Loire Chenins...

Delicious. Youthful and oaky but ready to enjoy thanks to the fresh red berry flavours. Elegant for a Pommard with just a tad latent youthful power in reserve.

I found this a bit nondescript, perhaps the sign of a poorer vintage and perhaps it should have been drunk in its youth? Still very drinkeable and I will not wait long as the fruit content has faded and the minerals are not very marked...

Similar to my experience 2 years ago. Lovely honeyed notes yet counterbalanced by lively citrus acidity. Absolutely delicious now and so much better than other recent vintages like 2017 which I found lacking in verve despite its youth. I an going to push the drinking window out another few years, only problem is this was my last bottle....

Honey, ripe pineapple and melon. Concentrated and round with a hint of mango peel. Rich and oily with medium length. Shows the warm vintage - no tension or acidity. Hedonistic Chenin...Drink now!!

I agree with Diogenes' tasting note which was similar to my experience. Bell pepper and black currant on the nose and the also the palate. Smooth for a Cab Franc with dusty tannins on the finish suggesting that this may still be young and a bit on the tight side. Wait another year?

This was stunning and I settled on a 93 score before seeing that WS gave the same rating - for once we agree! Hints of petrol on the nose leads into a candied lemon & lime palate which is long and delicious, succulent even. There is a ripe pink grapefruit bitterness on the tail end which refreshes the palate. Perhaps the most quaffable white I have tried. Is it thanks to the great vintage or are Fritz's Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spätleses always to good??

Neil Martin's tasting note hits this on the nose so to speak... There really is a touch of Cote de Beaune here with its red fruit freshness, almost too much of it for warm Bordeaux vintage. For me it is still a bit closed and I will wait another couple of years before the next bottle. Cheers!

I may be overrating this wine for some tasters but I just love the quaffability of this lush Merlot-based blend with its heavy but integrated oak. Deep purple colour leads to an inviting nose of dark brambly fruit and a rich, round palate with a stimulating touch of raspberry acidity to accompany the chocolate flavours (halfway between dark and milk..). Fills the palate with a medium/long finish. I will enjoy these in their youth, hoping it doesn't shut down some time soon. Yum!!

Blind tasted by my guests who guessed Jura. It does have a bit of that oxidized apples thing to it but it is more focused than that and the sharp acid backbone indicated to me that this needs more time as befits the excellent vintage for whites in 2014. It did open with airtime but for my palate I found little evolution. No premox here!

Disappointing showing after my last tasting 4 years ago. The natural wine elements with brett completely dominated the palate. There were some Syrah elements with red plum acidity which brought freshness but the terroir was clouded by the brett. A real stink bomb...

Sometimes I wish I hadn't read a review before opening a bottle! After reading the below notes I assumed I could open my first 2017 vintage before the 2015 which is waiting. Bad advice, this is nowhere ready - tannins are tight and the fruit is unwielding. I will wait another 2 years at least for the next one....

Golden hues. Tropical cocktail nose complemented with ripe grapefruit zest. Supple on the palate, almost sweet with some spritz. Pineapple and ripe grapefruit fill the mid palate. Finish a bit abrupt and dry due to its youth but delicious all the same! Wait till next year??

Amber hues. Saffron and caramel toffee aromas. On the palate cooked marmelade with caramel and orange rind. Lovely evolution with time to spare..

Light, discrete, flowery nose with hardly a hint of petrol. CO2 very present on the palate. High acidity and somewhat watery without much fruit showing. Light and unbalanced for my taste. Maybe an off bottle??

Delicate apple/pear & citrus notes on the nose. Mouthfilling texture with vibrant under ripe pear acidity. Unctuous. Hits well above its category. Long aftertaste.

Pungent nose with petrol and tropical notes. Light gas on opening. Little residual sugar. Dry and somewhat short length. Bitter sweet grapefruit finish. Citrus/lemons. Coats tongue. Well made and gains with air but doesn't have any wow factor.

Here I am tasting this nearly 10 years later and thinking it might be too late - but no, it is a splendid as before! Possibly the most outstanding sweet wine I have ever tasted. Previous notes are still valid. Wish I had another one to wait 10 more years...

All these supposedly simple Kabinetts from Prum constitute amazing mineral alchemy - no formal notes taken since it went down too fast but the kerosene notes are there with a dash of tropical juice all bundled up in a bag of crushed minerals. Timeless expressions of Riesling..

I cannot add much to the last excellent tasting note except to validate it as spot on! Enjoyable after a short time in carafe and with a very assertive personality - I agree this could easily wait longer. A great tribute to the ageworthiness of modern style Riojas.

Disappointingly soft and lacking verve but that may be the result of increasingly warmer vintages which may benefit the Loire reds but be detrimental to the whites. Round and honeyed without the bright acidity which used to balance out the richness. For me this is already in decline...

This has good potential but should be cellared for the next couple of years ideally. Enticing golden hues with a discrete nose. Sharp acids dominate the palate with underripe apples. I did not even sense the 13.8% alcohol. Unratable for now but definitely a 90+ wine..

No formal notes taken but what a surprising improvement over the last bottle I tried. I like one of the previous taster's descriptors of black olives, tea, moss etc. - quite accurate - but only after plenty of air. It comes across tight on opening and by no means like a 10 year wine. Vastly improved on airing and shows a more resolved character. A deep, dark forest wine....

Outstanding for a lieu-dit Village wine and organic to boot! Dark for a Burgundy with a rootsy, cola nose. Slight CO2 on opening which blows off. Supple and round with strong cola flavours. Red fruit acidity which I typically expect from Savigny but in a ripe style. Medium body and finish. Delicious, too bad I cannot find any more...

When I see the screw cap I am already prejudiced! This is light and unforgettable but fine if you are just thirsty. A decent Beaujolais Village beats it hands down on the fruit component...

Blind tasted. Clear ruby with pomegranate and a touch of funk. High-toned with tobacco and orange rind. Sweet, ripe cherries, pomegranate juice, leather, perhaps a touch of brett but I loved the smoothness.

Blind tasted. Brick red rim shows age but otherwise this is vibrant and fresh with a good dollop of oak. Discrete rootsy nose with cassis. High acid yet with ripe cherries. Medium body and finish. Young tasting. Had a hard time guessing Pinot, thought it might be Nebbiolo or Merlot....

Faint white flowers with a dash of natural wine funk. Smooth mouthfeel despite the linear, mineral drive which ends in citrus rind notes and a touch of bitterness. Long finish. Resolved, maybe too much so for long aging? Let this warm up a little to get the full expression. Made like a great Chardonnay..

Ruby colour. Earthy, sous-bois aromas with crushed red berries. Smooth on the palate yet retains acidity. Creamy oak notes, again the red berries. Vibrant yet rich. Very enjoyable.

Stewed apples, cider, yeasty nose. Smells like a Chenin Blanc with wet wool character. Biting acidity set against a rich body with just a touch of residual sugar (perhaps). Bitter lemon notes, amazing length on the palate. A monster Chardonnay which hides its hot vintage well (14.5%). A class act!

Fruit forward but in an uncharacteristically restrained style for the Languedoc. Succelent darker stone fruit gets clipped by some still present tannins which may be more to do with the Carignane than age. Very approachable yet I would be happy to keep this a few more years if I was lucky to have more. A great example of finesse from a hot region....

No formal notes taken but I found this juicy, ripe and very enjoyable with just a hing of whole bunch austerity offset by some tasty black cherry and other darker berry notes. Popped and poured at a restaurant. Kind of like Burgundy meets California....

I cannot add anything useful to Xavier Auerbach's tasting note below just to say that my experience was similar - resolved tannins, round and enjoyable in a fruit forward way. Only criticism is that it may be pandering perhaps a little too much to modernity....

This is a beauty and the supposed poor vintage was nowhere in site. Golden hues shows evolution. Strong botrytis aromas with saffron and kerosene hints at a richer style but the palate is dry as a bone and mineral rater than fruity. It paired suprinsingly well with fresh oysters. Some refreshing bitterness tightens up the palate which is amplifies despite the minerality.

Blind tasted. This one had the unfortunate destiny of coming after a Donnhoff Hollenpfad of the same year which made it taste sweet and simplistic. Strong kerosene notes with a creamy, ripe texture. Seems already oxidized and past it!

Resinous nose mixed with caramel. Sweet cherry on the palate with what tastes like residual sugar but according to the label there is none.. Simple Pinot notes with a resinous touch from the small percentage of whole clusters. Despite the low alcohol <13% there is some imbalance and it tastes like a Grenache from southern France.

Despite the 13% alcohol advertised on the back label the warm Corsican climate came through and this tasted slightly cooked and tired. Maybe it's because I am not a fan of Grenache (Elegante in Corsican)...
