Belle surprise à chaque fois que j’ouvre une bouteille de ce Brunello à maturité qui en a encore sous le capot à donner. Nez épicé , réglisse, poivre blanc, su tabac, touche de cuir. Bouche délicieuse de corps moyen avec un beau fruit noir, des tannins fondus, bel équilibre et superbe longueur. 91-92

Very nice surprise and still feels younger then almost 20 years. Very expressive nose of spices, liquorice, white pepper, tobacco and a hint of leather. The now medium bodied palate has gorgeous fruit and balance, smooth tannins and nice length, beautiful bottle.

A true step above most Bourgogne Rouge, this Liger-Belair offering brings the delightful subtle hand of the estate to a a basic but fruit driven wine. No unbalanced tannins or bouts of excessive forward fruit as with many Bourgogne Rouges from 2015. The main trait, oddly, is elegance without a lot of substance. Just as it seems like there is a definable fruit or other flavor trait, it gets lost in the inconsistent and occasionally watery melange. Slow owed for one and a half hours. Minimal bricking, minimal find sediment. Small sip upon opening w/lots of bright fruits. Little evolution over the course of the night. Nice secondaries of eaten leather. Traditional nose without any funk. Paired with Tri-tip and grilled brats. Enjoyed by novice and experienced palate tonight.
