Absolutely great bottle of wine. Possibly the best Merlot I’ve had and makes me want to explor Pomerol more. Paired with grilled prime tenderloin. Decanted for an hour+. Red current and vanilla bean on the nose. Soft tannins, sour black and red cherry on the pallet.

PnP last night. drank half the bottle and finished tonight. This drank as well as any of the CT Barrel Project wines that I have had. IMO better than both the Howell Mtn wines from the previous 2 years. Look forward to my remaining bottles.

Had at 315 in Santa Fe for my 53rd Birthday. Recommended by owner and Chef Louis. Decanted and served with Chicken Corrdon Blu and Cassoulet. Absolutely love the nose. Dark red for a Barolo. Classic Rose petals, wet granite and a hint of anise on the nose. Balanced with ripe soft tannins. Red raspberry with a little vanilla on the palate. Fantastic dining experience in all.

Not as good as the bottle I had 2011. Doubt that it will improve much. Not worth the money when you can still find the 08 PC for only a few dollars more.

Decanted for 4+ hours and drank over 4 more. Did not give up much at all initially. Cherry, granite and some anise on the nose. Drying tannins and not much fruit at first. At 8 hours it is much more enjoyable to drink. Sour cherry, wet stone and some pencil shavings on the palate. This is my lowest score door this wine and I hope it is just shutting down.

Decanted 8 hours for Christmas dinner. It needed all of it. I would hold off for another 5 years unless you have a case. I do think this will evolve into a special wine and am looking forward watching it evolve.

This was my last bottle and I decided to kill it based on recent notes and the fear it may be approaching it's end. It was really nice with an excellent dinner of Lamb loin chops and Cacio e Pepe. This is not to the standard of other 05's I have had but IMHO deserves better than an 84 or 85. I wish I had more.

Not my best bottle of the 05 but still very nice. Seemed to lack the fruit of previous bottles. My last and best bottle was 2.5 years ago (scored it a 94) and I was really looking forward to it. Maybe an off bottle or needed a longer decant. I gave it an hour where I had three hours on the previous bottle.

Very closed upon opening. Decanted for 2 hour and this was still pretty tight. The nose was nice but very tanic and showed little fruit. Not sure if this will compete with other 06's I have tried.

Fantastic bottle. at 19 YO this wine still seemed young to me upon opening. I opened the bottle and tasted after an hour. I then decanted and it took another 2 hours to really open up. even after dinner it is still evolving. If you are drinking this now I would give it a good 3 hour decant. This is my best bottle of the 96 yet. Unfortunately I only have 4 left. Dark red and just starting to brown on the edge. Really nice red fruit with cassis and stone on the nose. Sour red cherry and some graphite with some fine tannins. I think this has many years ahead but drinking nicely now.
