Past its prime but still not bad. But not better than a $30 bottle of local brew.

Can’t add much to the notes of others. Drinking nicely. A bit soft but that’s pleasant. Easy and ready to go right out of the bottle.

Wasn't special. Like others have said, a bit less subtle than most pinots. Also found it pretty sharp until it smoothed out for a couple of hours, but even then, it was only good - not great.

Decanted three hours in a temp controlled room before serving. Overall, very good. I'd definitely say it's ready to drink. Maybe some room for additional development?

Decanted in a temp controlled room for 4 hours before serving. It was very good and drank nicely, but I didn't find it to be particularly special, for the cost.

Great wine. Didn't take detailed notes at the dinner; however, I will say that it was exquisite and has aged beautifully.

Drank our last bottle with sous vide grouse. Fantastic. Wine is both soft and complex and filled with delicious fruit (and a bunch of other great stuff, I'm sure).

Delicious!

I stand by my earlier rating.

I Coravin'd a glass about a year ago and it was..."okay". We opened up the bottle on Friday to have with a simple chicken, gravy, rice, and corn dinner. The wine was just subpar. It improved a bit in the glass but only to the point of being "alright".

I don't think it's fair to knock a wine too low for PQR, or else I'd give this about an 84 or so. Taste is taste. This just isn't great for the cost.

Did the "pour back and forth" decant 10 - 15 times and it came out really nice. I won't bother trying to make up flavour profiles that I don't understand and will just say "tasty" instead.

I can honestly say that there was nothing wrong with this wine. It was good. It was at least as good as 100 other bottles that I've had that were the same price less a 0 on the end (i.e. about $20). Maybe a bit better.

But for that price and the hype, it had better be damn good. And it wasn't. It was just good.

Super smooth, ripe fruit, nice depth of flavour. I can't spout fancy tasting notes, but I can say that it was great to pop and pour and tasted good.

Has potential, may not be there yet. A bit high of acidity and a bit lacking in mouthfeel to be truly great, but the flavour is lovely. Someone compared it to a CdP...I think that's fair.

This was a very enjoyable, easy drinking, good value wine.

(I didn't have any left on day 2 so can't speak to the previous reviewer's comment)

Nicely integrated fruit, some nuance (although not a lot), smooth tannins, and overall good value. Would drink again (in fact, I'm glad I have another bottle). Probably not much more than a year left.

Opened another one last night. I actually *love* this wine. I can't give it a ton of points for its amazing depth of flavour and all of that, but it's really enjoyable. Had a glass tonight with some nice cheddar and moved on to a glass of port (Fonseca Terra Prima Reserve Organic) afterward. I actually think I enjoyed this more...and I love port. I need to find more of this wine.

Charming. The Chard gives it a nice roundness with tree fruit accents and the Sauv gives a nice zesty touch.

Perfect blend of age and finesse. It had the brick colour that I associate with mature burg and a light but deep fruit characteristic with just the right level of acid to be very food friendly. Very smooth tannins and overall, a great bottle of wine. Wish I had more. At a really good place now but will probably still be good in about two years.

Had it with my birthday dinner at Onyx Steakhouse in Port Moody. Steak Tartare to start, Hangar Steak Frites, and chocolate cake. The amazing thing to me was that the wine still tasted good even after a bite of slightly too sweet chocolate cake.

I have to think that there was either a flaw with the previous taster's bottle or it was consumed far too early. We just opened our bottle to serve with a 32 hour sous vide cross rib roast and I couldn't disagree more with the "no fruit" assessment. Yes, there was some oak, but it was by no means overpowering (and I'm quite oak-sensitive) and there were gobs of fruit. It was almost jammy (but not quite).

I actually quite enjoyed it for a $25 BC wine. Better than I expected to.

I was going to say that everything is pretty well integrated after being opened for about 20 minutes (popped and poured with dinner but took some time to settle down). Fruit was present, as noted, but not quite overpowering. Oak was medium minus. Colour was vibrant. Finish was medium'ish.

Overall, I wasn't disappointed...and I usually am with BC (except Blue Mountain, those guys are solid).

I'd say estimated dates are accurate. I wouldn't hold this much longer. It's drinking as nicely now as I think it will.

This is good; however, it was quite harsh fresh out of the bottle last night - very tannic, little fruit, and just generally "austere" and unapproachable...probably just too young still. Have left it in the fridge over night and it's softened quite a bit. I'm still finding the tannins to be quite pronounced and am learning more and more that harsh tannins are not my thing. Maybe all of this Bordeaux that I've collected may be a mistake...

Much better than my previous attempt at this wine. Still only okay. Alcohol and fruit is a fair descriptor; however, fairly balanced. No real complexity.

Drank at the same time as a 2011. Both were good in their own ways. The 2011 was much more fruit forward. The 2008 seemed to have more depth - more earthy tones but tamer tannins. Very enjoyable either way.

To learn that this was pure Syrah was no real surprise. I was thinking that it lacked the finesse and depth of other CdR blends that I enjoy so much. It was a bit harsh out of the bottle (I think it could sit for another year or two comfortably) so we decided to hyper-decant (yes, I took the hand blender to it). That softened things up and added layers to the wine that I previously had missed. A bit tannic for my palate.

This was just so charming. As another reviewer noted - it's south of France in a glass. Lighter than many, easy to quaff, and a joy. Brought me back to my honeymoon in Provence. Great value. Not overly complicated (which, sometimes, is nice).

A nice and simple dessert wine. It lacked some of the overbearing sweetness that I dislike, so it was quite pleasant. Interesting peach flavours (I have a feeling that peach may be added to this wine).

I had this before and feel like I enjoyed it much more at that time. It was still good, but lacked some of the depth and finesse I had previously enjoyed. It felt like it was in more of a "sweet, raisiny syrup" place compared to what I had tasted the last time. I still liked it, though.

I very much enjoy this wine and think that it's drinking beautifully right now. That being said, it did not stand up to a braised and glazed short rib (braised in rioja, tomato paste, soy, worcestershire, balsamic, and honey and then glazed with that, heavily reduced, and with some dijon in for jazz). The sauce just overpowered this wine. It was just too "soft."

Opened up after an hour (but by then it was mostly gone). I did enjoy this but I think it's the type of Bordeaux that is a bit heavier and in austere than I can appreciate. I prefer a bit more delicacy.

Absolutely adored this. Had it after a 2001 Comtesse de Lalande and this was far superior. As others have noted, very smooth. Lots of finesse and a beautiful delicate depth. I'm no good at naming the flavours, so I'll say "it tasted like good red wine." But it was good. Very good.

Received as a gift for our engagement five years ago. Not sure if it was past its prime but it certainly wasn't overwhelmingly good and has been far exceeded by many local $25 bottles of brut.
