This wine needs time to open up. Dominated by alcohol at first it eventually blows off and is very rich with ripe berries, cassis, relaxed tannins and a nice lingering finish. Drank over two days and day 2 was the best.

Very slow to open up, delicate and withheld for a couple of hours but then blossomed into a beautiful and complex, if restrained, wine. Delicate cherry and stone fruit with soft tannins and a supple mouth.

Disappointing wine. Thin and reserved. It opened up after a couple of hours to reveal some dark plummy fruit but the mouth was unexciting and a little tart. Tasted again the following day and the fruit was more prune and port-like but the mouth didn't change much. The last couple bottles of Flowers I tasted have been pretty weak.

An odd wine, aptly named. Soft and smooth, velvety. Caramel and vanilla dominate the nose with some faint fruit and smoke in the background. There is a sweet chocolatey finish in the mouth that was an unpleasant surprise. This is not a food wine. We had it with some beef and it was a clash although I tried it with some chocolate afterwards and it paired OK.

What a disappointment! I opened this wine an hour before drinking and used a vinturi on it to pour. It was really reticent and restrained, shall I say thin? I had to swirl aggressively to get much fruit on the nose and there were some vegetal notes. The overall structure was OK just a weak wine. We paired it in the tasting with a Hendry that just blew it away.
