Yikes. When you're really not that familiar with a grape you want to give it the benefit of a doubt but this tasted like wet wood from the get-go. Cork itself when examined had an odor best described as repugnant. Can't get past it, which is too bad because I was looking forward to getting to know this wine.

10/24/19, 6:54 AM - unfortunately there seems to be a cork issue with this wine - over 50% of the bottles i've opened were highly disappointing.

2010 Weingut Clemens Busch Pundericher Marienburg Falkenlay Riesling Mosel Saar Ruwer
Apple, honey, peach, minerals, with a nice dose of lime on the finish. Unfortunately, the fruit tasted over-ripe too me, as if this bottle was past its prime. The acid was still there, but the fruit wasn’t. It did do better with some air, but overall, disappointing. I’d like to give Clemens Bush another try, but in the future, I’ll try drinking it younger.

    6/14/19, 1:50 AM - Hi JKScully,

I found this wine has been dominated by ripe honey since the beginning. Yet is was always balanced out by a razor sharp acidity, which made you feel even the slightest cut in your tongue.

Therefore I decided to leave my last two bottles in the cellar until 2020+
Have you been cellaring your bottles for long?

Super Heathcote shiraz. Lots of dark fruit. Terrific structure with lovely texture, just enough acidity and a very long finish. At age 16 its still going strong.

1/15/19, 4:57 AM - Thank you for your review. I've been keeping a bottle of the '03 in my cellar since 2006 - I guess your review is tempting me to open it up one of these days. Cheers!
