We really enjoyed this wine, great nose of lemons, stone fruits and spice. Palate begins with a strong citrus and saline note, and then seamlessly transitions to a long almond butter and fresh tropical fruit finish. Amazing depth of flavor and only 12.4% ABV

Purchased from the winery in October. Drinking really well right now, lots of dark fruits, spice and a slight herbaceous note. Slight tannins and a long pleasing finish, plenty of life ahead.
Red
Similar to the 2007 we had a month back, really drinking well. Lots of structure supporting the fresh ripe red and black fruits, spices and cedar notes. Long life ahead of this one.
Red
Hard to believe this is 14 years old, strong acidic spine supporting an amazing balance of fresh red and black fruits, tobacco and spice. Long finish .

Wow, wine of the year so far. 1 hr decant. Super expressive nose of red and black fruits, with floral and earthy notes. The palate is perfectly balanced between power and elegance, with an intense depth of flavor. A hard wine to put down and sorry I didn't buy more than 2.

Wow, was this a pleasure to drink. Fairly dark color with tropical/citrus fruit nose. Lots of ripe fruits and nuttiness but plenty of acid to keep it feeling lighter than the nose would make you think. Glad I have one more in the cellar.
Red
PnP. Moderate nose of dark cherry, baking spice and a hint of brett. Still strong spine of acidity, supporting black fruits, spice and floral notes. Drinking well at age 11.

2019 Massican Annia California White Blend (view label images)
Wow does this wine have a nose. Complex blend of floral, nut and stone fruits, and even a little smokey. Palate is just as complex, starting high acid citrus slightly bitter with a more ripe fruit mid and back to a long steely stony finish. Best Annia so far.

Wowza, WOTY candidate. Amazing depth and concentration with a strong acid streak lifting everything up. Honeysuckle and stone fruits up front with a spice and citrus finish. Amazing wine wish I bought more.

5 years since my last note and sadly my last 2010 (of 9 total) in the cellar. Wow, this wine is still drinking so good, screwcap PnP. Strong smoke, herbs and earth notes followed by ripe black and blue fruits. Still has a strong acid streak supporting all the flavors for a long finish. I have really enjoyed following this wine for the last 6-7 years. Still have some other vintages left that I will have to open soon.

PnP with homemade pizza's. Hard to believe this is 15.9%, high tone red fruits and floral notes, with moderate plus acidity and still noticeable tannins. Seamless wine and a pleasure to drink.
Red
This wine was drinking great with a couple of hours in the decanter. Concentrated and layered without feeling heavy. Deep black and red fruits, with pipe tobacco and some baking spices. Endless finish.

Cellared since release. Exceeded expectations for a 19 yr old $20 bottle. Plenty of dark fruits with leather and tobacco notes. Purchased every year as a cellar defender up until the 13 vintage. A very enjoyable finish to a nice evening.
Red
2 hr decant. Best showing by far for this wine. Starting to unwind, and show a really well balanced wine through all the structure, with lots of black fruits, spice and earth notes. Still fairly tannic, but I wouldn't hesitate to look in on one if you haven't yet.

Restaurant wine, decanted at table. Not much on the nose except old musty cellar. Better on the palete, but still lacking. Some dried red fruits and licorice notes but still mostly stale and musty. MEH.

1 hr decant. Possibly the best QPR in Napa? Definitely on a short list of the best Napa cabs in $75-$100.00 for my palate. True to it's new world roots without going over the top.

PnP, wow this was the best showing so far for this wine. Really surprising structure that supports a lot of flavor, black and blue fruits, floral notes, baking spice. Drinks well above it's price, I would have guessed blind a $70-100 Cab.

1-1/2 decant Wow, much more accessible than the 13 last year, which was tight as a drum. This was really a pleasure to drink. An amazing seamless wine full of red and black fruits, pipe tobacco, spicy oak, and red flowers. Moderate tannins and a long smokey finish. Don't be afraid to open one of these.

1 hr decant. Last time i had this was 7 years ago, final bottle. Red and black fruits on the nose with some baking spice. Tannins have integrated, time has been good to this wine, really well balanced red fruits, baking spice with more earth notes adding to the wine. Wish I had more.

PnP could've benefited from a little air. Noticeable tannins with lots of red fruits and earth. Time in glass helps soften the tannins and makes it really enjoyable and a great QPR at $42

1 hr decant. Wow, this is good, I can only image what the reserve tastes like. Grippy tannins supporting a mix of red and black fruits, cedar and earth notes. Long pipe tobacco finish.

Picked up a couple of these while staying in Sacy. Wish I bought more, this is all about brioche, lees on the nose with the palate adding some citrus and green apple notes. Great zesty finish.

At La Table du 11 in Versaille. Favorite wine of the night. Lots of floral notes with blackberry, smoke and cracked pepper. Amazing depth of flavor for a wine that is so light in body.

A little funk, a little fruit ( red and black), a little earth and a little black pepper. Soft tannins and moderate acidity. Enjoyable for $17.

Found an orphan in my wine fridge Sunday, opened with steamed lobsters. Lemon, almond butter and a slight oxidized note on the nose. The palate shows no sign of the oxidized note and is moderately viscous with lemon curd, ripe stone fruits, and a nutty finish with just enough acidity to balance the richness.
Red
1 hr decant. Beautiful nose of blackberry, plum, cedar and herbs. Moderate tannins and acidity. Drinking really well, but should only get better.

Started at room temp and this was too hot, 16.1% Slightly chilled it is better but still somewhat out of balance. I have had a lot of HS wines and usually enjoy them, but this one not so much the alcohol is the dominant feature here.

I'm a big fan of what Mike Smith does with Kenefick fruit, Cab & Syrah and this didn't disappoint. 1 hr decant, lots of plum, blackberry with floral and spice notes. Easy drinking, but with enough structure for the long run. Hard to keep my hands off of them.

Never disappoints, seemingly more complex than previous vintages. Peach, apricot, citrus and herbs. Moderate plus acidity giving plenty of structure and a slight saline component on the finish.

The first domestic sangiovese i have really enjoyed. Tasted at the winery a few weeks ago and purchased a couple of bottles, remember at the time thinking this wine screams for food. Had with pizza and didn't disappoint. Lot's of red fruits, black pepper, and floral notes with plenty acidity.
75% Sangiovese with <10% each Zin, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and Merlot.

Jet black, but considering the overall depth of the wine it is drinking really well. Spicy floral nose, turning to dark chocolate. Deep and intense but not overwhelming, Tannins present but approachable. day 2 little change, tannins a little more noticeable but still a pleasure to drink.
