Had with 3 other wines. This was the slightly behind the Burgess cab at a similar price point. Drinking well.

Bottle is fantastic. Brought to a dinner party and let decant for one hour. Didn’t need more. Just remarkably smooth and luscious.

Let decant for 4hr. Still drinking well - very smooth to the tongue with a little heat. Tart cherry, anise. Dark garnet color.

Still drinking fantastically. Let decant for 2hrs. Hint of Licorice but smooth as silk.

Ate with a prime beef tenderloin. Let’s decant for an hour. Thought was good at first but over time, it seemed to lose its finish. Last bottle so perhaps time to drink if you have.

This is drinking great right now.
Decanted for 30min. Dark, opaque color concerned me at first but the dark fruit flavor and unctuous mouth made this a delight. Have one more bottle.

Let decant for 30min.
Still tastes luscious but not much of the deep finish I remember. Have one more bottle but don’t think it will have much longer until that’s drunk too.

Update - so I thought this was dead but put in the fridge in a decanter (wrapped) overnight and drank tonight. While not great, vastly more drinkable which was surprising. Took the rating up 6pt. Still recommend drinking now.

Original - Popped but this one has lost its structure. Basically a flat spicy tobacco cherry flavor. I don’t think time will help given lack of body. Maybe it’s my bottle but drink up now if you have.

Opened and quick decant
Wow - dark, rich color and tobacco cherry scent. Little forward and hot but settled. Should open more but tastes great

Lots of heat initially
Little chalky taste to the tongue as well as sour black cherry
Nice but didn’t open with time

Think this is a good everyday wine - nothing special but better than others in this range. Just be careful if merchants marking up too high

Bought due to WSJ rec. thought ok - front was interesting and back typical chard. Nothing really noteworthy.

I’m not a Chard person but like this. Needed a little time out of the bottle but very full mouthed and beautiful golden color. Not too oaky. Definitely could feel the alcohol.

I had my last bottle of this last NYE and it was great then. Just opened my last bottle of the 2005. Surprisingly excellent still - dark color and soft tannins, with a tobacco mouth. Popped and aired a bit, but fantastic on first taste. Nose is a little earthy so glad I opened - think it is slightly past prime and doesn’t have much more.
Drink now!

Wow - this is what I remember. Previous bottle drank (same vintage) for NYE was obviously corked. This one is beautiful and lush. Still drinks well.

Waited too long I think here... and I have 2 more bottles so hope it is just this one. Took about 3hrs to open up but I also had one last week at my brother in laws (we bought at same time). Okay but nothing to rave about given original price point. Disappointing... at first, but drank the next day after letting decant overnight; much better so revised my initial rating up a bit.

flawed
Something wasn’t right with this one. Cork was moist but the odor wasn’t right. I’ve had this wine for about 8yrs in constant cool storage and yet it was down right awful. Let sit out over night - the structure was gone and the odor made it undrinkable. Terrible but I have 2 more bottles to compare.

Something must have happened to this one. Opened for new year’s and from the start something wasn’t right - let decant for 3hrs and still nothing - left out over night and... nope, all the structure was gone. Horrible shame for such a great vintage.

Believe this wine has run its course. Still drinkable after an hour or so of decant but still believe the finish is rather sour.
