Excellent, earthy Rosso with good acidity. I suspect it needs another year in the bottle (or time decanted) to show its best.

Ready to drink but benefited from 1 - 2 hours decanting. Concentrated; Dark fruits, earthy, leathery flavors. Excellent wine, especially at this price.

Dark, still a bit tannic, leathery, dark fruit flavors. Deep. Excellent wine, although at $30 a little pricey

I bought this after having my first mencia in a Spanish restaurant in Philadelphia. That one was more elegant and Burgundian. This one is a much bigger wine, on the order of a southern rhone. Dark purple, concentrated wine with red fruit and earthy flavors. I don't have any experience with mencia or Jose Palacios, but despite the reviews I read, although drinkable it is still tannic. I think it be better in a year or two.

A weell-made wine: concentrated and long. Howver, the prune and peppery finish was not to my taste.

Dark purple. Concentrated, red fruit and mineral flavors. Still somewhat closed but already delicious.

Absolutely delicious, with concentrated red fruit flavors and great length. It was a bit tannic at first, but they melted away after decanting. This should be even better in 2011 or 2012.

Purity of fruit, excellent acidity, and a mineral quality in a medium-framed, delicious wine, especially at the price

Brown at the edge and with less fruit than before, but drinking well, with complexity. The iodine-like taste of mourvedre, which can sometimes be too much with Tempier, is very pleasant at this point.
