Wow. Drinking beautifully now. Delicious, with a long finish, well integrated tannins and fruit. Good acidity remaining. Delightful. Drink or hold, but if I had more, I'd be in the drink camp.

Beautifully balanced and delicious Syrah, which is too rare, particularly at this price point. Kudos to Morgan and team, for consistently creating outstanding wines.

Dark fruit and bramble with smooth tannins. I also get a distinct stony minerality which is very compelling and not surprising given the sources and their root depths. Delightful.

A big Paso Cab, full bodied and complex with a long finish. The 16% ABV is not at all evident on the palate. Unbelievable QPR.

This needs air. Did not stand out after pop n' pour a couple of nights go and had been under VacuVin since. Just poured the last (large) glass and it's right nice now. Stinky sweet on the nose and a full, fruity palate. Quite good.

A mouthful of juicy black cherries followed up by fine, ripe tannins. Great QPR and drinking well now.

Big, dark, smokey, and even floral nose. Blackberries and blueberries on the palate. Full and elegant with a Pinot Noir like mouthfeel and lingering finish. Very nice indeed.

Drinking very nicely now. A little hot on the nose but red fruited and feminine with well integrated tannins and a nice, silky mouthfeel. Decent finish. Will improve.

Dark chocolate covered raspberries dusted with spice. Nice long finish ending with fine tannins which imply plenty of life. Wish I had more.

This is drinking really well right now. The tannins are integrated and the fruit is pure and mature. Wish I had a few more.

Wow. This is fantastic right now. Ripe, dark, sweet fruit coats the palate without being jammy. Not sure of the blend, but Grenache dominates and I could easily mistake this for 100% Grenache from CDP. Languedoc gets better and better..

Smokey, meaty Syrah + chocolatey Petite Sirah + a little vegetal kick from the Petite Verdot = an interesting and delicious blend. The oak is obvious but serves to bring it all together. This has a nice QPR and I'd buy more given the opportunity. Faded somewhat by day 3.

I gave this a 91 the first day through Vinturi, when it tasted like a decent CDP. By the second day, it tasted like CDR and got an 89. So, at this point, it's a nice QPR if you pop and pour, add a little air, and finish on day one.

Dark fruit with spice, a touch of chocolate, and wonderful, persistent minerality. This could easily be mistaken for a good Gigondas.

This bottle had a nice, deep, complex nose but was very disappointing on the palate. Black pepper and a little fruit with a finish that was very tart and sour. It became more sour over time and I poured the last half bottle out on the second night. I give it 80 points because of the nose.

Dark red fruit. Rich, creamy, and delicious. Not much bramble. The alcohol is as well integrated as 15.5% can be. Quite enjoyable.

Blackberry, cassis, and tobacco with a little milk chocolate on the finish. Creamy and smooth. This was good with pot roast, and outstanding with dark chocolate truffles. Great QPR.

Dark fruit and licorice. Clearly has loads of potential, but the tannins are too dominant for me right now. Will try again in a couple of years.

Raspberry, tobacco, and a little white pepper with well integrated tannins. The finish is long and sweet without being cloying. Straightforward and utterly delicious, this one really grew on me.

Smells and tastes more like a Pinot Noir than a Bordeaux blend, but enjoyable. Broad on the mid palate with a persistent finish.

This was, for me, a 91 point wine on the first night, with loads of dark fruit and meaty complexity on the nose and palate. Second night (after Vacuvin) it was an 87, having lost a lot of weight and complexity. Not sure that this will age well, which calls the QPR into question.

Dark in color for a Pinot. Powerful bouquet of dark red fruit. Great weight and length; coats the palate with Pinot deliciousness and won't let go. Wife loved it.

Dark red fruit, rock dust, and garrigue on the nose. Medium weight with pepper and spice over the sweet brambly red fruit. Medium finish with sweet tannins. Gains body over time and was still improving on the third night under vacuum. Really nice QPR.

Dark ruby fading to clear at the rim. Dark, briary, somewhat hot nose. Taste of dark red fruit, spices, and herbs lingering nicely on the finish. Gains weight and complexity with time in the glass. A perennial favorite.

I agree that this needs a healthy decant. Upon opening, it was sour and disjointed, but after a couple of hours was like a baby CdP. Still improving on the third night, making for nice QPR. Will try to sit on my last bottle for a couple of years.

Saturday, September 11, 2010 - Big and full on the palate, with lots of California sunshine. Not very complex, but quite enjoyable with creamy peach and citrus flavors. No clue that the alcohol was 15.5% until I saw it on the bottle.

Dark fruit, garrigue (of course), and plenty of spice. Medium body with a delicious, lingering finish and enough complexity to keep it interesting. Sweet tannins will keep this going for several years. Gets better with air, too; 89 1st day, 90 2nd, 91 on the third. Good QPR; buy more.

Light gold in color. Waxy pear, honeysuckle, citrus, and some crushed rock on the nose. Pears, peaches, peach pit, and limes on the palate with enough acidity to support the nice, lingering finish. Full-bodied, elegant, and delicious. I prefer a little more minerality, but that would be my only complaint. Wonderful with grilled summer vegetable risotto. Wish I had bought a couple more during our visit to the tasting room.

Popped and poured. Heavy alcohol and smoke on the nose and palate which decreased over time. This is a big Pinot with ample fruit and a long finish with a lingering charcoal note. I too prefer the 07 but this is good given time to breath.

Dark fruit and sweet oak on the nose. Blackberry, black raspberry, a little black pepper, graphite, with elusive sweetness on the palate. Very well balanced. Still good with firm tannins on the 3rd day with Vacu-Vin, so should have several good years ahead. Probably better with food.

Decanted 2 hours. Dark fruit and licorice on the nose. Black raspberry and tea on the palate with some garrigue on the long finish. Very smooth end to end with well integrated tannins; nicely crafted. Drinking well now, and has the stuffing to last many years. Paired nicely with grilled lamb chops and roasted vegetables.
