Almost felt guilty about opening this so young... almost. Opened for only about an hour before we drank it (we had some other wines while we were waiting), and it was definitely the wine of the night. Deep, complex profile with a lot of dark fruit. Some of my friends who got to share it commented the next day, "I can't stop thinking about that wine." So glad I have a couple more bottles! Another amazing bottle from Mike!

Delicious! Have had several times and this is usually the wine-of-the-night against some notable competition.

Very tasty! Popped and poured at Joel Palmer House with meat course (filet mignon with sauteed wild mushrooms)... excellent pairing. This South Block is slightly more tannic and earthy than the North Block (which paired perfectly with mushroom-heavy first course); some red fruits, slight earthy/forest floor notes, medium tannins and bit more structured mouthfeel, medium finish.

Delicious! Popped and poured at Joel Palmer House with first course of wild mushroom tart and mushroom soup... perfect pairing. This North Block is more fruit-forward than the South Block (which paired very well with the meat course), and I actually preferred it slightly over its sister (though both are great). Red and blue fruits, some floral notes, soft tannins and mouthfeel, medium finish.

"Lemon curd" captures this well with acidity and creaminess in balance; some floral notes as well. Opened to enjoy with other white wine drinkers (I like both!), and usual red-only drinkers sipped and stole! Another great one from Mike and Leah!

Paired AMAZINGLY with Dungeness crab ravioli with pesto cream sauce... yum!! Flavors of melon and citrus, with some almonds. Great finish.

Drank over two nights. Purple hue. First glass, night one, popped and poured - dark berry fruit, some smoked meat and limestone, but "tight" and a little disjointed - very young. Left open for a couple of hours and re-corked, came back to it next day. Had opened up and softened. All the elements of the night before, but integrated and lush. Will hold on to my others for a few more years.

Yum! Pop-n-poured... lush dark fruit, vanilla and some baking spices. Shared with a group of friends so it went quickly, but everyone raved about it. Wine of the night, hands down.

Still quite young, opened Christmas Eve afternoon and had a glass - good but still tight and a little green and acidic. Left open and came back to it for dinner, ran it through the Vinturi and it had opened nicely. Still had good tannic structure, with dark cherry, blackberry, cocoa and a little leather.

Excellent with Thanksgiving Dinner. Good balance with fruit and earth, tannins were relatively soft given it's age, nice long finish. I like that this is generally a bit more "masculine" compared to some of the Domaine Serene PN's, so it went very well with turkey and dressing w/ mushrooms! Very enjoyable.

The most disappointing wine of the Thanksgiving weekend; not bad, but the acidity was a little overpowering. Still had some good red fruit, but lacked the complexity I usually can expect from Domaine Serene wines. I have 2 more bottle of this and may hold on to them a bit to see if they integrate a bit more.

Delicious paired with halibut oscar and brussel sprouts. Stone and citrus fruit, some apple, a little creme brulee - not overly oaked, a bit of minerality.

Dark garnet, purple color. PnP - blackberry, plum, some green pepper up front, tea. Dry, fine tannins up front. After being opened for over an hour, green pepper fades and flavors of smoother vanilla and creme brulee come into play. Good balance with dark fruit, tannins and enough acid. Long finish. Really good.

Pop and pour. Pretty dark garnet color. Very strong mushroom nose, with some red fruit underneath, but took quite a bit of time in the glass to emerge. Flavors of cranberry and cherry, but not a lot of depth. Alcohol hits a bit hard at first.

Came back to it after a good hour in the glass and the aromas and flavors stayed true, but became more integrated. Still not a lot of depth however. Up to 89.

Between brick and ruby red color that fades dramatically at the edges. Initially very barnyard smell, but with air, this diminished a lot. Nose then became predominantly red fruits, with some truffle and forest floor. Taste of strawberry, bing cherry, very mild mushroom. A bit acidic with a pretty short finish.

Ran through Vinturi, but still opened up a lot more after a couple of hours. Ripe red fruit, some olive tapenade, pepper and meatiness. Round lush mouthfeel, long finish. I'll be holding on to my other bottles for a couple of more year (well, at least I'll try to). Another winner from Mike Smith!

Pop and pour - lots of concentrated fruit, but tannins tightly wound and it was disjointed (too young). Double decanted and it opened beautifully. Nose of blue and black fruit, cedar, and some spice. Taste followed: dark berry favors, cocoa, a little nutmeg and clove, with a medium finish with vanilla and fruit. Hold on to this for a couple of more years or decant to drink now.

Pop and poured. Cranberry color; nose of red berry, taste is similar with some pepper, acidic finish. Pretty one-dimensional. Might try to make a reduction out of the rest. (for Rate the Unrated weekend)

Delicious! Opened a couple of hours before drinking over another couple of hours. DARK purple-ly color, big dark jammy fruit on the nose. But palate is much more balanced, with dark berries, a little cocoa powder and a bit of leather. Tannins are big, but not overpowering. Will probably hold on to my others a few more years, but it'll be hard. Mike Smith is a master!
