Very nice bottle. Enjoy these with just a bit of age.

Somewhat disappointing example of an otherwise favorite bottling. Great nose but harsh tart taste

Some Turley's I enjoy young, but these always work better for me after they've had a couple years on them.

Not great on night 1 - very tart and lacking in fruit or any sort of complexity. Will wait to see if it improves on night 2.

Solid. Used to be one of my favorites but no longer my bag. Maybe I've been drinking too many Turleys lately but I'm not really digging these anymore. Bummer.

PnP. Green nose that turned me off initially. Improved somewhat throughout the evening. Not the best example of this bottling I've had.

Brick color, nice nose of red fruit and sage but just too tart to be really enjoyable. Probably ok for what it is, but I've always preferred Foxen's Rhones and Pinots. Their Italians just really aren't my thing.

Light to med color and body, almost pinot-like. Nice fruit, soft tannins, well integrated. Missing the exotic character I remember of previous vintages.

Light color and body. Tart strawberry and cherry. Fine but not exactly what I look for from Jaffurs.

More interesting than first tasting from two years ago. Drank with grilled rack of lamb rubbed with rosemary and garlic, and green bean gremolata. Not an ideal pairing, but still very enjoyable. A Pinot for Syrah lovers.

Medium body, tobacco, earth and oak. Nice balance. A real standout.

Edit: an upgrade to 93 based on how this was drinking 2-3 hours after opening would not be unreasonable.

Same as previous bottle. WTF?!? I choked the last one down, but I had to dump this one down the drain after two sips. The 2008 bottling was great. Not sure what happened to these 2009s.

Something went wrong. Very hazy, almost milky. Nose was OK-ish, but the taste was tart and totally bottomed out after ~1 second. No bueno.

Very dark with a spicy, oaky nose. Dark fruit and spice flavors that linger. Big and extracted. Showy example of the cool climate style. One of the best wines I've had in a while.

I dunno, maybe I was having an off night but I wasn't really feeling this. The acid level was a little distracting and the fruit seemed one-dimensional. Good, but not 'Jaffurs Good.'

I really wanted to like this, but it just wasn't working for me. Dark, tannic, nice nose but it just didn't bring much fruit. I think I prefer the Cline mourvedre for ~half the price.
