Lovely 14 yo burgundy. It’s a discrete player.
Dark ruby, earthy, mineral nose with sweet, dark berries and clean, clay-like minerality.
With some air it attacks the palate with dense, dark and cool fruit. There is a pronounced minerality and sweet-ish tannins.
A really well structured wine in a really good place.

Dark and powerful still, but based on previous notes some of the lighter elements of fruit have faded. But still a monolithic core of dark fruit, minerals and tannins that will survive another decade.

Still looking and tasting good, long after its drinkable window. Lots of nice burg quality in this bottle still, perhaps even more joy now as it is settled and refined by the he years.

Indicates that the scores and analysis provided by professional reviewers may be tainted by the consumer motivator side of their job.

Pretty fantastic. Powerful, sweet, structured. Clearly defined by age on the nose, but still bursting with fruit and acidity. It is so balanced and firm, so elegant and weightless, long and broad specterered on the palate. I am so happy with myself for the patience that ha gone into keeping it in the cellar for more than a decade. It is now a really interesting champagne. Admittedly I have had a few regular vintage 96 in the mean time, all great - but this is the gem.
This champagne is pure class.
Perfect now.

What a wine! Youthful, fresh, forward, big, long and bold.
Purchased at the winery, second bottle this year. Great wine!

«Expired» per CT drinking window, but in great shape.
Ruby red fading towards brick color. Sharp red nose, cherries, red fruit, hint of cellar and a bit of alcoholic sting.
On the palate it presents itself with a nice, fruity attack which gives way to a plateau of earthy flavor, lovely minerality and a good grip of acidity
In the back spectrum you can feel the age, but this wine is a surprisingly fresh 22 year old wine.
The first sips at laced with an attractive sweetness from the fruit. After food it comes across as drier, more serious.
Not overly complex, but very balanced and nuanced. Conservative 91p.
My last bottle, happy to have kept it. Should deliver pleasure for several more years

Dark ruby color. Somewhat smoky initially. Impressive blend of fresh dark, red fruit and tertiary aromas on the nose. Earthy and mineral.
Full body, tons of fruits, tart, solid landing of acidity that pushes it into a dark, spiraling aftertaste of dark cherries and some licorice. Long. This is pretty impressive for a 96!

Cellared for 8+ years.
Floral nose, somewhat spicy aromas, hint of something earthy - like hay or grass.
Fresh bubbles, fresh acidity, really great mouthfeel. Good body, tangible, well developed fruit that marries well with the grippy acidity and a firm presence of minerals that pulls together to a slight bitterness in the endgame. Quite long.
Food friendly.

Nice pinot noir, smooth and harmonious, well rounded by age without any tertiary notes.
Lacking the freshness and top fruit to really be very good, but absolutely attractive and in a good place right now.

Drinking fabulously now. Well balanced and Integrated. Still a good grip from plenty of fine tannins. My last bottle. Perhaps even better on day two as it seemed to gain a little transparency overnight.

Singing its last song. Brick/rust color, aromas telling that it is time to drink up. Very pleasant wine with structure and poise, carrying its age very well. Still fresh fruit and attractive minerality in the mix, as the earthy notes and a hint of cedar is elbowing its way to the front of the spectrum. My last bottle, impeccable timing on my behalf.

Rockstar wine. Starts out dusty with cellar aromas, but settles into a pure beauty of red berries, lovely minerality, cool cool fruit and freshness.
Stunning quality for a 30 year old wine.
Struck by its freshness, coolness and linear transparency.
It is almost weightless in its balance, but still has the body and power of purity, minerality and a gorgeous backbone of fresh acidity. A beauty.
Also my last bottle.

Wonderful complex and intriguing champagne. Mid golden, small fresh bubbles. Rich nose with maturing notes. Constantly evolving, broad spectrum of aromas and taste. Full body, great minerality, tickling acidity.
Just a complete and stunning champagne, hard to believe it is extra brut with all the richness and sweet fruit. Superb effort from a genius winemaker.

Quite bright color. Powerful nose of spiced honey, some burnt caramel, floral notes. Good body, solid acidity, lovely minerality, mandarin marcipan, long, mature aftertaste. Will still improve if you like the aged style bubbly.

Still grip from fine tannins, good fruit and body, wide taste range, elegant minerality.

Followed this lot since purchase in 2017. Whopping qpr. Solid BdN. Yeast and red apples on the nose, with some pleasant salty, marine-like components, topped by a fine, delicate sweetness.
On the palate it is focused, clean and precise. Dried apple, mature sweet fruit, lovely layer of minerality, amazing rounded acidity with a long and pleasant aftertaste. Convincing harmony.
It really reinforces my love for this wine. It has been consistently overperforming my expectations over four years since purchase.
Strong 92

Finally it comes together. The unbalanced acidity is gone. This is really good. Brilliant red with some ageing. Lovely perfume on the nose, black fruit. Warm forest floor, eucalyptus, pine, earth notes, some sweetness. Perfect balance, tart, good body, elegant minerality. Just a wine that has come beautifully together. Perfect right now, will drink well for at least another five years. Will adjust drinking window accordingly. 91/92, scoring it up.

Very lovely barb. Rusty red, good nose of cherry, roses, some Smokey tar. It is still fresh and correct, lots of ripe and mature fruit, well rounded acidity attacks the palate before it widens out in a nice spectrum of tart, red berries, raspberry and some currant. Quite long. Excellent wine in its prime drinking window.

Oh Yes, Thank you darling. What an amazing champagne. Beautiful light golden, delicate bubbles. Impossibly sweet nose, grilled citrus, ripe apple, honeydew melon, hint of fresh coffee, floral and deep.
Sweet and cool landing on the palate, fresh clean acidity, deep minerality, abundance of fresh white and yellow fruit. Long vibrant taste that folds out over half a minute.
This is a premium well made champagne from a producer that luckily stays under the radar in the market. Will buy a case of the current vintage tomorrow!
Just thankful. Wow.
Conservative score.

Low expectations for this one. But it is still very much vital. For a cru bourgeois it is good value. Neutral nose with classic notes of cedar, pencil shavings, some red fruit, mint, hint of licorice.
Nice flavors of cool fruit, solid body, long and solid with tangible tannins.
Probably won’t improve, but should keep well for a few more years.

Barolo-ish nose of cedar, licorice and some floral notes. But it is lighter and fresh. In the mouth it shows a nice transparency, fresh red fruit, well structured tannins. Beautiful wine in a lovely stage of maturity right now.

Wow. Drinking window listed on this is way off. According to ct this should have been dead years ago. Instead it is as fresh as a spring flower. Berries, red fruit and fresh plum on the nose. Hint of fall leaves. On the palate fresh and youthful, cool bright fruit, a grip of earthy darkness, licorice and some herb notes. Modern Ribera. Good grip of tannins. Long, fruitful aftertaste. Would not be surprised if this holds up for another 10 years. Very nice surprise and stellar wine. Happy!
