The experience of wine that is alive. Open hour before dinner and the attack is tart. Immediately decant. Red fruit emerges with a balanced palette with the slightest bitter moving to the finish. Finally becoming fully integrated after 2-3 hours.

Read reviews and was able to get close to an hour in decanter before pork lion and asparagus. Walla Walla Rocks Syrah funk on the nose smaller than first labels. Bright fruit on the attack and a Mourvèdre finish. The last glass moves closer to dominant Syrah.

Glad we opened this one when we did. Cork came out like butter and stained to near the top, caused concern. Let sit open in cellar for 6 hours before serving. Did check on it at 3 hours. Initial impressions were that it is past its prime. After more oxygen it blew off and we had a hint of satin supported by tobacco followed by mocha which made a nice pairing with thanksgiving pies.
