Chez Francois Pahlmeyer Wine Dinner.

Wow! This is stunning. Pop and pour way too early but still beautiful right off. You can taste vanilla and cassis on the first sip. As it opened black fruits and the grip on the end emerged.

If I tasted this blind I could identify this as a a California Pinot. Dark color. Big fruit and spice. Really tasty!
Unfortunately this is the swan song for their Pinot.

Very well made. Pale yellow color. Faint nose but maybe too cold. There is definitely an oaky mid palate which is not my favorite but this is well integrated. Flavors of honeysuckle, lemon, and smoke. Rich mouthfeel and crispy acidity. Finish is very nice.

Wow. What a pleasurable wine. Decanted two hours. Translucent purple- ruby color. Dark red fruit and heat on the nose. Black raspberry and hints of plum on the palate. Full body with baking spices on the finish. Just terrific!

My family had this at a restaurant. The sommelier seemed to be pushing this wine. I am open minded and agreed.
I could not detect any nose from my glass, over an hour of sipping this.. Dark burgundy color. Weak notes of cranberry and some acidity with a short finish. I asked my family to describe a flavor that they detected and no one could name one, so it wasn’t just me. Very disappointed.

Muted nose. This wine is neither simple nor complex. There is a core of dark fruit and toast. The finish is long and pleasant.

Pleasant knows of dark fruits. After a three hour decant, this had flavors of black cherries and black raspberries. The finish was soft, but it had excellent finesse and balance.

This was way better on night two. The flavors are more precise. Vivid red cherry, strawberry and tea flavors. Reminds me of a Vosne village level wine that I had recently. Just damn tasty!

Drank over two nights. It was best, even pleasant, at the end of the second night. It seemed a little musty. I could not pair it with food.
In all my years of drinking this wine, my only somewhat negative experience.

Vinnut is all over it ! Great Review. I concur .

This a crowd pleaser but not a fine wine. I opened it several hours before tasting it, thinking that I would have it with a filet. This is not that kind of wine. No nose. Cloying, muddy, syrupy flavors. No front, mid or back palate flavors. 14.7% alcohol at least! Non vintage right after the 2020 fires? Buy it as a cellar defender for your sweet wine drinking friends or chill it.

Little nose. Awkward, lean with some weak black cherry notes.

Opened 3 hours prior. Nose of black raspberry and black cherry. Flavors of black cherry and acidity. Not a long finish.

Four hours in this has turned to unctuous cherry flavors.

Another hour and the tannins have emerged and the flavors are of black cherry.

Needs time or long decant. With a short decant, dark toasty flavors over power the dark black raspberry fruit. I am going to wait two years on the rest.

On the fragrant nose are peach and tropical fruits. Flavors of lemon, and minerality. Long finish. A trusted sommelier said it was one of the best Sauvignon Blancs he has ever had.

We had this Patricia Green declassified wine from 2020. Nose and color are great. There is a certain plush silky flavor of black cherry and black raspberry, that emerges in mid palate. I really don’t taste any taint, but the finish is shorter and might have a hint of it, as well as lacking a little acidity. But Pinot often has a smoky note, right? Definitely makes me want to buy some of their better vineyards in a good vintage. Worth the $18 that I spent per bottle. I bought a case after the first sampling a year ago. Glad I was able to support them a little as well as have this experience.
Rating is trimmed for the possible flaw at the end, but a nice tasting and educational experience.

Night two after a 4 hour decant and reseal. Simple at first, but the nose, upfront flavors and grip emerge ater two hours open. My last half glass is the best. Optimistic for the future, although it seems awkward now. I think this is too young to judge. I will wait a few years on the rest of this case. Numeric rating based on the final glass.

Amazing, profound nose of smoke, bacon fat and black fruits. Dark and red fruits, green olive that fades with air, soft finish. I could just sniff it all night and get pleasure.

Wow, this is open for business now! Light ruby color with a vivid nose of smoke, cherry and bacon fat. Pronounced flavors of light smoke, black cherry and strawberry. Plush mouthfeel. Long flavorful finish of cherries with almost zero tannins. How many more do I have left wine.

This used to be one of our favorite wines and at a higher price point. This is nowhere close but just ok. Lots of plum and bramble overpowered by alcohol. Short finish. This is what happens when holding companies buy out creative , driven innovators. Mediocrity or worse.

This is what I don’t like about California Pinot Noir. It often tastes sweet, spicy, dark fruited, astringent and Syrah like.

Golden yellow color. Nice upfront flavors lead to a grassy off putting mid palate. Caramel finish. Tastes and looks more like a mis labeled Albariño Good acidity.

Still a profound nose, of bright fruits now. Mid-palate of black cherry, strawberry, and spice. Some tension in the finish yet. It seems to me that 2022 on, will be best for this wine.

We had two bottles over two nights for four people. We loved it so much the first night I went back and got another bottle.

No other white wine could follow this up, it had such intensity.

Great value.

Nice nose of licorice and red fruit. Flavors of black raspberry, leather and tar. Medium grip on the finish.

Night two notes: This has developed very nicely with vivid flavors of cherries and chocolate with a leather finish. Really nice! This was really my first experience with a well aged Brunello. Awesome!
