Not enough here to crack the 90 points. A Chateauneuf that feels more like a simple CDR.

I was expecting more much from this as the 2007 was quite good.

Absolutely fantastic wine. The purity and freshness of the fruit is out of this world.

Nose: I was expected a power fruit forward nose but I got a very refined and precise nose made up of sweet plum, minerality and guarrigue for the most part. beautiful

palate: Again ...very refined altought powerfull. The tannin were sweet and were adding to the complexity of this wine. The fruit profile mirror the nose.

Fantastic wine !! A gem !

Much imroved from last time I tasted this wine. Pretty much the same structure and a little bitter in the finish which is associate with the difficult vintage of 2007.

Still a interesing pomerol for $35

Very nice QPR at $18

Nose: OK we did not decant so the wine felt a little oaky and jammy, but still retains some bordeaux character with plum, pencil shaving and darf fruits.

Palate: Again, a little oaky but nonetheless quite interesting for the price. Nice splash of Plum and pencil shaving. The mid-palate is a little watery but the final is bone dry with quality tannins.

Lovely and very good QPR.

Fantastic Napa Cab Franc. Reminescent of a good quality High percentage Cab Franc St-Emilion.

Nose: Liquorice, plum, dark fruits, iron, violet and dust

Palate: Beautiful kick of dark fruits, liquorice, menthol and dust in the entrance. Then, some aged fruits and flower along with new leather comes in. The final is still tannic but fine grained and sweet.

Great Wine !

We all loved it !

Very very young !!!

Nose: Powerfull splash of red and drak fruits. Oaky. Some flowers as well.

Palate: Wow! this is full bodied. Maybe too much ! Very good fruit profile but a little oaky and the tannins are still young and intrusive. This will age well given the nice fruit up front and the refreshing acidity.

Very nice wine but way too young.

Not a bad sauterne but a little simple even for its age. It also lacked a proper finish.

Palate: Orange marmelade, tropical fruit and a little bit of spice a the end.

Not bad but far from great.

Exceptional wine !

Nose: Strong licorice and black fruits scents along with guarrigue, violets, cinammon or maybe clove. Fantastic !

Palate: Powerful but elegant. Great depth of black fruits, leather, spices and guarrigue. This wine is in its sweet spot right now.

Fantastic

Intersting nose of iron and sour cherry. Some earthyness and leather as well. Little fruit comes out

Palate: Little fruit. backward wine with heavy tannins and acidity.

I'd say hold for another 5-6 years and maybe the fruit will emerge a little.

No bad however !

Palate: Again some green bell pepper, sweet cherry, spices and earth

Drank with rib eye steak.

Nose: Elegant, blackcurrant, red fruits and a bit of dust. It is focused.

Palate: Again, very elegant, strong fruits but not overpowering the acidity and the tannins. Great balance.

This wine is slightly dissapointing . I was expecting a much more complete wine but the wine seemed tired and going down hill.

Nose: Sweet cherry, sous bois, earth and wet forest floor.

Palate: Tired, old leather, sweet cherry, fully integrated tannins. The most dissapointing was the surprisingly short finish.

It is not a bad wine but definitely not a Grand cru quality. I would be fine if this was a Village Burg.

Decanted and aired for 2 hours. Very new world in its jammyness but sill retain some Bordeaux character. Jammy cherry, dark fruits, new oak and vanilla on the nose. The palate is medium/full bodied showing lots of merlot character. Soft wine with dark fruits, jammy cherry, tobacco, anise, and graphite.

Very good Bordeaux and a great QPR. A little atypical for a St-Estephe, but who knows how this turns out in 5-10 years.

Drink in a restaurant in Montreal

Fantastic wine ! Old but felt young ! The nose is highly complex with the usual floral (lilac and violet) St-Julien aspect. Then gravel, pencil shavings, plum...lots of plum, red fruits, old leather and spices. The palate felt young with lots of tannins but also had red fruits, plum, old leather. It has a perfect acidty and a profoundness that I haven't seen in a long while. Long challky and tanninc finish. Tannins are non obstrusive however.

Truly fantastic wine.

This wine was bought during my wine tour in Beamsville

Intersingly enough I bought this bottel for $10 and it performed much better than all the wines I tasted during my trip there.

This Cab franc reminds me of a good quality generic burgundy. The nose was primarly strawberry, cherry and a touch of wood and sous bois. The palate mirror the nose.

Good wine !

First off I am not a big fan of big Aussie Shiraz. This is not !

Most of the Elderton wines I tasted I must say that I was pleasantly surprise.

On the nose there are some drak fruits along with a little spicyness. Not jammy at all. Some vanilla oak as well. On the palate we cannot feel the usual warmness coming from the climate that I usually feel in Aussie Shiraz. This is more restrained. I picked up blackberry along with sweet dark fruits. The Acidity is present and refreshes the palate and the tannins are not overpowering the fruits.

No complaint about the wine if it is for complexity ! I don't think this is an ager however !

Opened and decanted for 3 hours.

Upon opening there was a distinctive aromas of Eucalyptus, graphite and sweet black fruit and some earthyness showing that the wine is aging. The palate showed all the margaux terroir. Sweet black fruit, eucalyptus, some dustyness and earthiness as well. Great terroir wine. It is obviously not a first growth quality but awesome nonetheless.

My first time with Las Cases.

The nose starts up with splash of strong cassis flavors. Then came in smoke, pencil shavings, blackberry and violette. Beautiful and elegant bordeaux nose if a little restraint. On the palate this las cases is totally elegant and maybe lacking in profoundness. Maybe its the vintage that was not especially great for the medoc. It is very complex however, with pencil shavings, cassis, blackberry, smoke, cigar box and sweet cherry. The more the time pass the better the wine got. I don't think the wine fully opened up over the course of our tasting. The wine still felt overly tannic as well.

This is clearly a great wine however.

I must say that I was pleasently surprised by this wine.

Nose: Intense aromas of black fruits, black pepper, liquorice, petroluem and chocolate.

Palate: A little jammy but not over the hill. Full bodied wine that develops blackberries, black fruits, chocolate and strong pepper. The wine also started to develop some leather notes that is showing its age. This is like a combination of Northern Rhone precision with Califronia sexiness syrah !
It did not crack the 90+ because of a slight jammy element that I found intrusive. Very good nonetheless !
