slightly yeasty for my yaste and acidity could be better

8/14/15, 9:09 PM - actually acidity was not high enough for my taste, I prefer the mouth watering kind of sensation, and this bottle seemed a bit yeasty for my preference, but overall, still within the boundaries of what I like, so will open a few more bottles.

Importer tasting: According to the fact sheet the wine is made of 100% Serine (which is ancient Syrah) and not destemmed. The wine gets 20% new oak. The result is a classical wine with that typical Northern Rhone bouquet with minerals, leather and meaty impressions. Good garrigue and red and black berries and cherries as well. Good fresh acidity as well as a touch of sweetness, pleasant tannin. An elegant and beautiful wine. Early maturity now.

4/8/15, 10:43 PM - I am not familair with messages, yet! Is this where I am supposed to leave messages? I am heading to Italy mid May and will likely spend the last week in Verona and Trento, the first will be with a group, some wineries but mostly sights.

In a good place now, color still young, after 1 hour in the glass, very nice foral scent, complex with dried fruits, minerals, earth. Elegant and with character.

Peaked around 1 hour after opening, not decanted, good but not great. Dropped rather fast after 2 hours.

12/6/13, 12:08 AM - I was quite surprised that this bottle dropped that quickly, my last bottle of Beaucastel was 94 and it lasted quite a bit. I think this could be an off bottle or poor storage.

12/6/13, 10:33 PM - I just came back from a 10 day visit to Kyoto which was stunningly beautiful this time of the year as usual. I used to live in Nakano-ku Tokyo and perhaps should get together sometime to share some good wine and swap tales of our stay in Japan.
