never understood the style of this house, even visited them and did the tasting with the wine maker once but I just dont get it. tried maybe 3-4 bottles in the past and always lost. Just too big and oily and intense for my taste. hence the low rating.

still has life in it but likely passed its prime. Blind tasted and guessed BDX, missed the key signs but picked up on common traits. drank with 2000 petit cheval which I liked much better. Still a good super tuscan but prefer it to have more bite.

perfect level and cork condition, entering peak and still has a few more years on the up based on last nights performance. Very classic BDX cedar, cigar box, graphite and an underlying layer of fruit. Long finish. Firm but round and fine tanins. Everything you would expect from a great vintage and a good chateau.

so smooth we drank the whole bottle without realizing it. Fine fine tannins, spices, herbs, good acidity and a great finish. excellent QPR.

based on the condition of the cork, which looked rather new, this bottle could be re-corked, the level was very high for a 30 year old as well. That said, it was a great bottle, silky tannis, lots of mushroom and herbal notes, dried roses, you name it, this one got them all. why only 91? it does lacked fruit somewhat and also a little more structure would suit me better, well, after all, this is the Queen of Neb.

somewhat on the light side but still enjoyable, thought it would be more structured as it was made of 100% pinot noir. fine bubbles, very clean finish and plesant. Somewhat chalky, not too nutty yeasty but just right for me. A good value bottle for sure. will but some more.

some sediments visible but overall condition was good, fine bubbles, very smooth and no bitter almond aftertaste which I find most rose has. Love it, drank the last drop in no time, somewhat changed my dislike of rose.

need to drink up, upon opening, very smooth and fine tannins, floral notes which was surprising, as didn't expect it from a village grade GC. color was rather dark for a pinot and likely due to oak aging. Did not come across as powerful. 2-3 hours later, floral notes gone and some complexity emerged.
White
should have stayed away for a few more years I think, wine is not integrated and tasted like eating chalk powder, not very enjoyable. Even after 3 hours, still very raw, try again tonight.

bit early in the drinking window I think, need to decant for a while and body became much more robust and more aromas appeared, but we were drinking way too fast and regret it.

amazing old riesling, sweetness much lowered but acidity was excellent, good all the way and probably can drink a few days more. The bottle suffered some heat damage while in Germany where this bottle was picked up. It was in my suitcase in the car for a week or so.

good bottle condition, cork still in one piece but soaked through, level was good for the vintage. Took about 1 hour to fully open, very fine tannins and complex aromas of cigar box, leather and spices. Fruit lacking at first but came in around 2 hours after opening, some flora notes as well. Not worth the $ for sure but once in a while, you need this to remind you of classic Bordeaux!

very reductive at first and took 2 or more hours to settle down. Seemed like a very modern style and seemed over extracted, very dark colors and somewhat tannic. If balanced with fruits and minerals , would gave a good showing..............

right after a bottle of AYALA, probably a matter of taste preference, I prefer crisp high acidity and not too creamy, which this one is. Tasted blind, would likely guessed champagne, a well made and very good bottle but not my style.

quite mature and drinking well, fine tannins and very old world feel, tasted blind by 10 wine lovers and 9 guessed BDX. This is my first napa single variety can fanc wine. very interesting indeed.

Very interesting winr using some late harvest or even boytritis grapes, quite nutty and slightly oxidized but with a charming touch. The 15% alcohol is probably the highest of any white wine that I ever drank but not much heat was felt, highly recommended if you wanted something REALLY interesting!

Tasted blind and very difficult to place, the tannins were really ripe and soft, nose a bit plummy but not over done. Color was beautiful ruby with a hint of garnet. A great pleasure to drink with some roasted pork!
White - Sweet/Dessert
need more acidity to balance it in my opinion, better not rate this as I was not impressed by this style.

Surprisingly youthful, and what silky tannins, tasted blind, Bordeaux for sure but got the vintage all wrong, thought it was less than 20 years but the silky tannins should have point me in the other direction. A real classic and what a joy to drink this with friends who appreciate aged Bordeaux! Bravo!

tasted blind, after using different wine glasses, the of the wine emerged and was able to point to chablis, very good acidity, almost Sancere like, the oak was not obvious, unlike when this was young, which was tasted about 3 years ago. Great balance and full of character, good expression of the GC terrior too I think.

a rather oaky presentation which was a bit too much for me, perhaps a modern style BDM. Tannins seem to be softening but more aging might help. Seemed not well integrated yet, not really my kind of BDM.

a lively and energetic sparkling which tasted blind would seem like a NV champagne on the light body style. Not much yeasty and toasty which is fine for me, I prefer some but not too obvious. A good starter for the evening!

almost a golden yellow now, rather full bodied or perhaps of the long sur lie effect. The sediments were obvious and make a beautiful mist in the glass, a great pleasure to enjoy this wine indeed. Very salty with the minerals and very much terrior driven. Loved it!

Surprised by how good a showing this gave us. Was expecting a very fruit driven and big wine but instead quite elegant and quiet for a new style syrah. Had many cabs before but first time to try their Syrah. Great effort, recommended.

Not impressed at all, must be the weather, or something. Had 3 da capo tonight and felt the Reserve was a better wine given how much these cost. I would recommend to focus on great vintages of the Reserve and cautious to collect da capo.

not rated as I tasted a hint of TCA, in any case the aroma is off for this bottle, which is the 2nd time, the last bottled about 2 years ago was exactly the same, not sure what is the problem but not appealing at all to me.

drank with the 87, liked this one better, it still has power and everything else, probably would age a bit more but no need to wait, very good now and gave it a rare 95 rating. It was voted WOTN too, amongst SQN, da capo etc.

quite a surprise to myself that I actually liked and enjoyed this wine very much. Have been staying off what I thought could be on the sweet side of things but turned out wonderfully balanced, good acidity and layers of fruit. Can be enjoyed neat or with food, we had chinese which worked very well, bravo! Tempting to get more bottles of this.

last bottle, even more elegant than last time, at peak or perhaps even on the edge of decline, round and fine tannin, well balanced but a bit more fruit would be perfect, oh well, cannot complain as this bottle was so enjoyable, a rare elegant CDP, no heat at all despite the high alcohol.

very well integrated and well balanced bottle, apple, pears, not too yeasty and just the right amount of dosage makes this a great bottle to enjoy on its own or with food, I probably prefer to enjoy on tis own. Long finish and very fine mousse. Cellaring could ad more complexity but already very drinkable and so refreshing.
