Beautiful summer white. Having on our roof deck in Southern California on a hot September day. Amazing wine with a grapefruit nose and white stone fruit and subtle white flowers and fresh green grass that is newly cut. On the palette the high acid lends to a complex mix of semellon expression with a firm backbone of Sauvignon Blanc. An amazing product started in Bordeaux many years ago

A great reminder of our Australia trip to Barossa Valley. Lovely balanced wine of Shiraz and Cabernet with hints of spice and crushed berries on nose and palate.

Very balanced with fruit, tannins, and earthy components with palate; nose exhibits and old world of crushed currents and cedar. Lovely wine

A great summer wine with BBQ veggies and whole sea bass. Beautiful nose of butterscotch, herbs, and young mission figs. The palate follows the nose similarities with intense Chardonnay finish. Balanced wine with floral nuances of honeysuckle and fields of grass.

Nice-nose of plum, berry, forest floor with multi-layered floral elements. Palate of persistent crushed red berries and high acid elements. Herbaceous characteristics of damp forest brings forward the taste of fiddle heads. Balance of all makes wine that is lovely.

Decanted for 1hr, had wit ribeye. Great crushed red berry coffee nose, with ripe blackberry, current palate that is massive tannins of black tea. Finish that is long and enduring. Great wine that would benefit from two more years in bottle.

Give a two hour decant-very bright and balanced. Nose with fruit and mount Veeder characteristics of sweet cherry and minerals with spring flowers. Big tannic palate that starts with fruity berries and goes to complex earthy seed fruits of plums. A long finish of black tea and cigar mahogany.

Good, but not as great as the ‘14. As the previous reviewer heavy flavor on the hazelnuts due to over coopperage on the burning of the barrels. Made acid and fruit non-balanced and minimal finish.

Very good, but not as balanced as different years-2014. Nose is dirty like a good northern Rhône with many promisingly variable but the palate of crushed blackberries is not multidimensional as the nose. Tannins are there with too high acid, but finish not as long as you would think

Decanted 21 hours to show it’s true meaning. A itergrated multifaceted wine that requires time and understanding what a Mount Veeder wine has to offer-complex and wonderful that requires cerebral contemplation along with physical elements to enjoy fully. Hold for three to four years in cellar for other bottles.

This is the best Barolo I have ever had in my 30 years of tasting wine. Gave it 5 hour decant, still exhibited a youth full nose of bright cherry, elegant mushroom, intergraded dark field berries. Palate is reserved of same but very balanced in acid, tannins, and fruit. Had with a grilled veal chop which showed off the wine’s true expression. Drank over 2 hours, and every taste was better than the last. A total epiphany of a great wine-this is why I collect wine!

Weakening since last bottle-not showing good with age. Nose still good with dirt and mushrooms, but palate is divuse with strong acid and disjunctive fruit of dark berries and unripen plum. Not balanced.

Usually my favorite KB, but this vintage shows more herbaceous elements on the palate. Still a very good wine: nice blackberry, ripe plum, spice on the nose with a palate following up with a lush fruit finish that is long, lush, and pronounced as of all KBs, but this one indicates a mis-balance of acid and fruit-maybe give the next bottle 2-4 years in cellar.

Give it a few days in decanter-this is a young burley wine that deserves time. Black fruit iodine nose followed by long lasting Indian spices. Palate is the same with ripe damson plums and fruity figs. This is one of the most balanced Freemark Abbey wines I have had in the past 20 years. Give it 4-5 years more in bottle, or buy the Boushey Vineyard one an give it 10-15 years.

This is an amazing wine. Give the bottle 1.5 hours after opening, this beautiful wine bouquet opens up to reveal forest floor, mushroom, cinnamon and nutmeg spice. On the palate extensive balanced acid and full sweet fruit (ripe plum, Indian spices) wine. Another 2 to 3 years in cellar will do this wine to 97 points. Still a baby now, but excellent.

Very nice-1 hr decant-nose yields to herbs of mint, thyme, and muted sage. Follows with crushed currents and red-black berries. Taste of soil and minerals integrated with berries, herbs (mint and eucalyptus), subtle ripe plum. Well integrated and balanced-minimal tannins with acid that says it could last another 4 years. Had with grass fed ribeye steak with lots of grilled veggies.

Amazing Champagne-delicate and refined vintage champagne with nose of honey, lemon, roasted hazel nuts. Palate follows nose characteristics with delicate bubbles of long finish of quince, lemon loaf broche bread biscuit. Goes well with avocado oil fried potato chips. Mineral elements match with overall balance of wine.

Too young right now, but understand the underlying complexity. This is not a typical Californian Pinot- very Burgundian in style. Nose soft with bright young cherry with forest floor loamy soil and moss-terroir character. Muted initial taste with high acid of unripe strawberries that evolves into a balanced low alcohol (12.5%) refreshing wine that matched a BBQ pork chop with black pepper and shave lemon rind. One would think it would not be a match, but the bottle disappeared in less than 15 minutes. Happy that I have a few more bottles in my cellar-hold on for 3 more years until next one.

Very elegant, and beautiful. Had with osso buco, and the acid with the wine held up to the tomato elements of dish. The wilted rose bouquet melded the braised meat-a long finish with forest floor nuances.

Amazing Barolo!! Do not decant because age in bottle now is perfect-very floral on nose of crushed roses and violets. Palate is still in balanced with mature round tannins and subtle acid. Subtle plum and berry fruit, this is how an aged Barolo is supposed to be-text book even with its long finish.
