Drinking very well right now. Not sure there is probably not much time left on this, maybe 3 or 4 years...but I could be wrong on that. I'll likely hold on to a bottle for a while longer.

This is getting even better. Great nose, well balanced fruit, all coming together so well.

Beautiful color, almost orange. Wonderfully rich, still plenty of acid. Great food wine.

Very nice for a not-so-respected vintage. It lacks voluptuousness, but still has wonderful cranberry and other red berry. Decant was helpful, lots of sediment.

Raisin and port-like nose on opening. Wish I had decanted and given it some time (rookie mistake). The last glass (over about an hour) was overflowing with wonderful fruit...raspberry, cranberry...and so much more. I will decant my last bottle of this next time.

Great bottle of wine. Lovely 'Rhone' nose. Great acid, great balance of fruit.

1994 is not the most famed vintage, but I find these wines perfectly enjoyable and reasonably priced. This one is no exception. Beautiful wine, classic Lynch Bages on the nose and in your mouth.

The 2017 vintage is back in the style that made me fall in love with the DaVero dolcetto. This is similar in fruit and structure to the 2014. 2015 and 2016 aren't bad (they are each very good), they are just different.

I'm no Barolo expert, I only know what I like. This wine is very nice. Earthiness, dark fruit, great balance with the acid. It might be drinking best right now.

A very 'fresh' drinking Burg. Not very dirty. Some nice bright cherry notes. Probably at its drinking best right now.

Very nice and elegant. Not an overdone CA pinot. Starts out like a Burg but evolves to CA style as it opens up. Very enjoyable wine.

No decant needed. We were worried that the it might fall off too quickly if we did. Glad we didn't, a little over an hour later the wine was showing those signs. Bordeaux 'funk' was present at the start, blew off in 10 mins. Amazingly good wine for the next hour.

A wonderful, not over-done CA cab. This has none of the "in your face" mess that most CA cab producers build their wines with. Also, oak is not overdone and has integrated well. Del Dotto is known from playing with oak "mixtures" and does tend to lean on wood heavily...not on this one. It's probably leaning more toward a French style, but the Earthiness isn't there. Maybe its more of an Italian style. Regardless, works well with tri tip and other foods and it's easy to drink.

From magnum. Decant was necessary. Great nose. Help up for the 2 to 2 1/2 hour we drank it over. Everything was there in this "off" vintage. I've had several 97s (not 1st growths...but some pretty good stuff) and this one is much better structured with well balanced fruit.

Can't really believe how good this wine has aged. Amazingly good. Everyone says that Paso Robles wines don't last...wrong!

Super tight on opening. Some air time in the glass and decanter opened up lots of dark fruit, especially blackberries.

My 1st try of something from Viticole. I'm just getting into Beaujolais, so I'm a little novice, but I'm experienced enough in wine in general to know that this is a great wine. We ran out and my wife kept asking me for more. When I get to my 2nd bottle I'll pay closer attention and make notes, unfortunately Thanksgiving was distracting.

A tad funky on opening, maybe a little oxidized. But gave it a little air and time and it sang beautifully. Easy drinking, amazing flavor. Initially I got a slight white port, with maybe some buttered popcorn or maybe kettle corn. Once it aerated it was a nice finessed chardonnay. I didn't get many tasting notes at this point because it went so well with my dinner I simply enjoyed.

Not the best Lynch, but it doesn't suck. A little more raisin-y, port-like notes than I would expect. But the classic Lynch Bages structure and flavors come through.

Lots of life left. Very nice, especially as the price I bought it for. I still prefer the Cuvee 1850 (100% merlot), but this is no slouch.

Drank along side the 2000. Not a fair comparison, I know. But this bottle is really nice. Fresher Bordeaux flavors, some red fruits. Not as dark and deep as 2000...to be expected. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, just tough to compare against the 2000.

Not a lot of 'pop' or anything particularly special about it, but it's a really nice drinking bottle. Not too "California", but not quite Burgundy. Easy to drink, works well with food.

This bottle has finally come around. As I recall, the last time I opened one of these I was worried it was garbage. Not so! It's nothing transcendental, but it is a very good Brunello.

Not bad for a 12 year old chardonnay. Nice and rich, Burg in style. I wouldn't keep one of these much longer, but it's pretty good now.

Surprisingly gold in color for it only being 3 years old. I'm not super familiar with this particular vineyard, so maybe this is characteristic. It is drinking well and a great food wine.

Yea, not as good as this wine typically is. It's not bad, it is just a little flat. That's fine, Hendry hits home runs all the time, so this won't slow me down drinking their stuff.

Definitely seems mature at this point. It's an interesting mix of Chassagne, Corton Charlemagne and CA chard both on the nose and on the palate. The color is a wonderful gold. It has rich, tropical notes and a slight creaminess.

I'm not a huge Primativo fan and really only bother with Hendry's and DaVero's. This vintage is a little juicier than I've had from them and it's not the style I was expecting...it's very very good, but not for me.

Great wine. Lots of life left. Dark cherry, blackberry and currants with a dusty, earthiness. Plenty of life left in this bottle, but I don't think I'll hold my last bottle as it is drinking really well now and I don't want to miss it.

Came out of the bottle somewhat lazy, almost like it was a bother to be poured. Slowly but surely it came alive in the glass and showed itself as a classic Brunello with tastes of leather, game meats, tar & tabacco. A very nice wine. So different as compared to the much brighter and more youthful 2004.

It came out of the bottle ready to party. On opening, the nose gave characteristics of a Barolo...bright cherry, earth maybe some cranberry. As it opened up, it still seemed youthful and shows many years of life to come. Drank this along side a 2003...what a different year! Such a great experience.

Nose has blackberry and some other dark fruit. Wine was closed off from the cellar (as to be expected) but as it came to temp, the palate was rich with creamy blackberry and I don't know, maybe some cranberry. It's a little dry on the back palate. In general I'm not a fan of Primitivo but Hendry and DaVero are changing my opinion.

Needed a short decant, but overall I found this to be a very very nice wine. To be fair, it was my first time experiencing Alter Ego, but empirically speaking I thought it was a very fine bottle of wine. Not disappointed at all. I forgot my tasting notes as I am writing this a month later.

Not my style, not rating for that reason. To me this is off balance and has too much fruit. Maybe it was bottle variation.
