From a half bottle. Spicy oak and subtle fruit on the nose. Light to medium bodied, smooth and gentle tannins, delivering subtle spicy oak and discreet cherries. Easy drinking juice.

Rather dark with some billbery hue, not clear with rather long legs. Light rim. Nose: very powdery but with some tart aromas at the begining, later becoming more swedt. Taste: light, lacks body a bit; quite high acidity - resembling red currants. Strange "dishcloth" finish - rather long. Would call it disapointment.

Very dark with light rim. Almost black and not clear. Nose: robust, sweet, plum jam, blackberries, some violets and leather. Taste: lighter than nose, but of great structure, medium acidity, nice, despite tbe age, well integratd tannins. Tobacco in the finish. Very well done.

    7/28/14, 2:33 PM - Hi Markus!
Well I do not know how I should comment on that. That is another opinion - surely more profesional than mine:) Cut to the chase - 97 is out of my scope talking of this Chinati Classico. As far as I can remember (october 2013) this is very well done but not very elegant - nevertheless attractive. During that Italian trip I had only this one Chianti as we were visiting Piedmont and Veneto so maybe I was not so focused on Sangiovese than I should be but anyway I could score it 1 notch higher at that time not more. Anyway 2010 I liked more that 2007. This year we will be visiting Greve in Chianti so will definitely try new vintages. Have you ever tasted San Fabiano Calcinaia? Do you have your own opinion?

    Best Regards!
    Jeff
