Retrospective note: Good strong fruit and yeasty/bready notes you would expect, however slightly lacking in the acidity since last tasted which meant it was a touch flat and flabby. This bottle didn't live up to benchmark set previously.

Medium ruby with clean, medium nose of redcurrants. Also a touch musty. Medium tannins and high acidity. More red fruit in the mouth; stawberry and redcurrant. Medium body and reasonably long finish.

Clear, deep, ruby. Immediate oak on the nose. After some time red fruit breaks through. Low tannins, medium body and medium/high acidity. Plenty of red fruit - red currant, strawberry along with the oak. Much more enjoyable than expected - really good.

Absolutely massive! Dark ruby red colour. Beautiful leather and oak on the nose - don't get bored of smelling. Rich taste which coats the mouth. Leather and oak again with liquorice and fruit. Not easy drinking but I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Lovely light golden colour, with good weight in glass. Flowery and citrus nose, easy but intriguing. Initially a bit flabby but quickly balanced out. Nice savoury, citrus and herby taste which has very great consistency. Excellent.

Weathered brick colour in the glass, showing it's age. Nothing like that on the nose or to taste. Super smooth and fascintaing. Very hard to describe but berries full of taste. Just kept you going back to glass even though you wanted to savour. Long finish too. Stunning.

Surprising outcome and completely different to when tasted at the vineyard. Medium red colour in glass, sweet fruity smell. Slightly fizzy (not intentionally) and with a sweet finish. Not to my liking at all really - interested to see how the other bottles turn out.

Dark red colour and almost sticky in the glass. Breathtaking nose, just so much going on. Fruit, liquorice and something I couldn't put my finger on. Less profound to taste but really enjoyable and kept all of us going back to the glass. Really excellent.

Lovely pale golden colour in the glass. Smell of apple and citrus with occasional hints of funk (but not in a bad way). Basic taste of crisp and refreshing citrus. Quite acidic. Excellent value.

Dark ruby red colour. Delightful fruity smell which is unfortunately not translated into the taste. Peppery and fruits luring in the background. Enjoyable but not as good as it looked and smelt.

Beautiful golden colour. Delicate but not particularly interesting or particular smell. Taste of ripe, sweet pear but again nothing spectacular. Not bad, but not interesting either. Maybe too early or maybe expectations too high.

Dark ruby red colour and a stunning nose of fruits and vanilla. Kept going back to it. Lots of action when tasted and was smoother than expected. To me it was better early on when it was sharp, but mellowed out over a couple of hours. Will have again.

Deep red colour with very clear smell of jelly before it has been melted down. Sounds a bit over the top but it was very obvious! Nice in the mouth with the jelly theme continuing. Initial taste was almost like a fruit drink rather than wine. However there was a certain acidity and burn to follow. Not at all what I expected from a pinot noir, but was thoroughly enjoyable.

Drank alongside 1995 Giscours for interest/comparsion and i think was overshadowed by this as the smell and taste of the 1995 was far more excentuated, obvious and enjoyable. Very deep red with some berry smell. Dry and some fruit coming through when tasted. Opened out a bit after some time and the next day. Probably a slightly unfair comparison but even on it's own whilst enjoyable not great value.

Not much to smell but pleasant colour. Minerally taste with hints of fruit coming through but nothing too sweet. As generally not a big sauvignon blanc fan this was enjoyable for me.

As before really beautiful. Easy drinking without being uninteresting. Buckets of fruit on the nose which are sweet and just don't get boring. Nice weight and taste in the mouth, continuing the fruitiness. Decent finish too. Great everyday and go to wine if you're a pinot noir fan.

Decanted for a good hour or so, which may have been a bit too long. Fruity smell on the nose, but nothing exceptional. Full, earthy tasting mouthful, which opened out a bit further in the glass. Expected a bit more to be honest, hard to tell whether it was too early or too late.

Initially smelt very acidic and lemony. Calmed down after a few mouthfuls, although still had a distinctly zesty taste. Went well with food and especially blue cheese - difficult to drink on own.

(No score as only one glass) Deep golden yellow colour in glass - personally find very pleasing. Delightful smell of gooseberrys on the nose. Far sweeter tasting than the smell would suggest, though the colour could be considered a give away. Fruity with a nice longish finish. Seemed to continue getting sweeter as the glass was consumed. Will not be all tastes and is not on this experience in the same league as their sparkling wine.

Very handsome wine in bottle, glass and smell. Big and bold with very evident fruits. Hard to describe in some ways. Taste perhaps didn't quite live up to this but after a couple of mouthfuls it opened up into a very pleasing and interesting wine. Would certainly have again and may be worth keeping.

Decanted a left to stand for about 30mins. Pretty much no sediment in bottle. Lovely nose of fruits and leather - which softened and brightened over time and had me smelling before each mouthful. Taste followed a similar pattern and was very enjoyable. Drunk with steak and followed into cheese as was being enjoyed so much. Not quite as good as the 2001 but peeking over it's shoulder and as with that can tell it's still young. No doubt will improve. Excellent.

Dark and full looking when first poured but opened out after one or two so-so mouthfuls. Fruity and powerful but not too overbearing. May not be to everyone's taste, but pleasing to me. Good value too, but feel it should be kept a while longer and will improve.

Based on pleasure and value from 2007 version - bought a few more of the 2008 (alcohol down 1%). Not disappointed as very similar to predecessor. Smooth, kind fruits and easy drinking. Will see how it keeps (if at all) and compares to the 2007. Great value everyday wine.

Just didn't get along with this at all. Nothing interesting, just tannins with nothing coming before or after. Dark and heavy texture to look at which translated into how it felt in mouth too. Half bottle - may be worth a retry.

Very strong and heavy when first poured, but not unpleasant to drink. Smell was excellent, really felt involved, although very full. Taste was incredibly full on but the tannins were (unexpectedly) nice and smooth. With hindsight could have benefited from decanting and almost certainly should have been drunk earlier. Scored based on actual but could be harsh given reasons explained. Would pick up another vintage to test.
