This wine has a beautiful deep red color, with a nose of deep red fruit, cherries amd raspberries, and an earthy quality with moderate spicey notes. The body is wonderful with outstanding acidity and a velvety mouth feel. However the acidity overwhelms too much on the finish. Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to really be critical with this wine. this is a big bold wine, with nuance, yet a fruit forward style. I really like this wine, but I would prefer to strike a bit more balance on the acidity and depth on the finish. 2006 had some great pinots, this is right there, but at the price I paid, I have found others a bit more rewarding. But you will not be disappointed with this in general.
