Great value and just so delicious to drink as always. Deep dark berry notes, black cherries, some smoke, tobacco and a touch of minerailty, as well as some sweet spices. It's medium bodied, with good persistence and nice medium-high acidity and some lower-medium tannin. Medium length. An uncomplicated, juicy and delicious blend that will work with plenty of different food.

Dark cherry red, very clear --- Nose milk powder, cocoa, elegant, I mean very elegant seamlessly integrated wood notes, bourbon vanilla, pralines, paper, cardboard, corn, pickeled dark fruit --- Palate warm, watery, light cherry juice, wonderful shy acidity, cinnamon, clove, hay, coconut, wonderful wood notes in the background, chewy tannins, nice sweetness --- Finishes medium long on elegant tartness and fruitiness. Overall very balanced, elegant and tasty. Very rich flavour profile, appears not to be engineered but stylish and delicate. It is made but not overdone. I love it.

1/25/15, 1:08 AM - I am cautious with projections as experience shows that wines often develop differently as projected.
However, it might improve body and flavour definition over the next 3 years and hold this level for another 1-3 years. Best drinking: 2014 - 2018.
In my view secondary flavours will lift up drinking pleasure while tertiary will make it rather boring.

8/8/14, 3:58 AM - Hi Jeff - Sorry for mixing things up. I meant another vine from the same vinery that received 97 from Suckling: Chianti Classico Cellole Gran Selezione. Did you taste this vine as well?

    Best regards
    Markus

Ripe sour cherry red --- Nose flowery, marzipan, bitter almond, lilac, minerality, iodine, sweetness, candy shop --- Palate fresh, acidic, medium body, herbs, some sweetness, forest floor, herbal charachter, elegant tartness, orange peel, sour cherry --- Finishes on minerality, red fruit notes and earthy tones, black olives at the end. If you try a lot of vines you are tempted to put the vine in your pre-defined categories. This vine destroys every temptation, it is unique. Many floral and herbal aspects I cannot put in words. Drinking it I feel nativeness, wildness and beauty. It definitely needs aeration. Delicious and captivating.

9/20/13, 1:53 PM - The vine has not changed in bottle for almost three years now and it tastes real fresh, significant acidity level and moderate tannins left. I would lean more to 5 but ten years but wouldn´t be too surprised it tasted nicely in 2023.

Light Bordeaux red --- Nose mixture of charcoal, red fruit and herbs, cherries --- elegant, matured, classic, very attractive, captivating --- Palate nice acidity, ash, dried flowers, anise, herbs, cherries, tar --- Finishes so light and benevolent on red fruit, ash and minerality. This vine is in a very nice place right now, you do not feel the 14,5% alc. at all, reminds me of the Faro Palari 2005 in its light and elegant while intensive herbal, fruity charachter.

9/7/13, 1:36 PM - @jamesigburt: P&P, the vine developed in the glass for 10-15 minutes, I do not believe it had gained pleasure with decanting. I guess this vine wants to be drunk now or in the next two years.
