Very nice and concentrated, but lacking the To Kalon signatures right now. Try again in 2024.

Pop one if you have several, but I think this wine will be best with a couple more years of bottle age. Really nice now, but tons of potential.

A really great with that is even better on day two. Shows more richness than the 1.5 grams of dosage would suggest. I imagine this will age pretty nicely. The 737 I opened recently was in a great place as well.

Pop and pour. Fairly open and expressive on the nose with lots of cherry and tar. More of that on the palate with tons of length and a late building fine but powerful tannin. If you have several, it's drinking very well now but not going to peak for 5+ years.

May very well be the best domestic chardonnay on the planet. Lighter on day 1, but by day 2 this had gained significant weight and tons of length. Very chablis in style with tart lemon, mineral and slight reduction. Beautiful!

This is drinking really well. Shows a lot of St. Helena character with scorched earth, graphite, and ripe fruit that treads the line of red and black. As I've said before, TRB has a way of blurring the line between fruit and oak that make his wines so great.

This is drinking very nicely after a few hour decant, but also seems like it could go another decade. Very nice, and one of the top wines of the vintage.

This 2014 has a beautiful stemmy nose that’s almost Burgundian with sour cherry notes. It’s super classic and though it’s certainly not closed, I think it will be better in 3-5 years. Day two the wine had gained significant weight and depth.

This wine is so good. All CF on the big nose. Kind of shows like a barrel sample, but in a good way. Tannin is present but balanced. Very Napa and very high quality.

This is the second of his ‘17s I’ve had and it’s looking like a good vintage. Light reduction, searing acidity and good length for what it is.

Made by F. Rinaldi and it shows. Beautiful red color that shows as a 10 year old Barolo, not a nearly 50 year old wine. Unlike the previous note, ours improved significantly with air, where a slight mustiness blew off and the beautiful leather, cassis and tar scents came out. On the palate, the wine is nicely resolved but with plenty of energy. Drink now, or in the next decade. Next time, I will open the bottle an hour or two before serving.

Typically Santenay nose that shows the warmer side of burgundy, but in the hands of someone who never pushes the ripeness very far. Still has some oak to absorb. I will hold my remaining bottles for 3 more years before trying again.

Somewhat closed nose that hints toward mineral vs fruit. In the mouth there is good depth and length but a hardness that suggests this wine needs a good bit of time. I’m sending mine away to sleep for 5 years.

Open for business from the start, but the oak was more integrated day two. I recommend a lengthy slow ox.

Nice wine on the large side for Celia Welch. Nose is moderately open, but tannin is on the mid-high side. Lacks the balance of Keever and Corra but may come into balance with a couple more years in the bottle. Try again in 18 months to 2 years.

My final bottle of six, and the best. This really punched above its weight. Reduction, Granny Smith apple, lime rind. Slight oak influence. Beautiful.

Spectacular bottle of Champagne. Lightly oxidative, but in a complicating way, with strong notes of lemon and minerals.

Just starting to show oxidative character but it actually lessened with an hour of air, suggesting this wine still has a lot of life left. Moderate sweetness with zingy acidity. Beautiful.

Possibly the best young cabernet based wine I've ever had, this showed all the beauty it did when we tasted it with Carissa last year. Stunning nose and more feminine on the palate than I'm used to with Continuum. I can't wait to drink it again!

Laser focused and drinking nicely, but keeping some in the bank. Lean but nicely balanced. This will be brilliant in 5-8 years.

Drinking nicely on pop and pour. Very typical Pegau in a middle of the road vintage, which is the style that I prefer. Classic garrigue, black olive and nice acidity. Some noticeable tannin makes me think this wine will continue to improve. Could use a little more mid palate density, but I expect that it will gain a little weight with time.

Drinking beautifully, with classic Meursault spice on the nose. Rich on the palate but with cutting acidity. Shocking light in color for its age. 2 bottles were in perfect condition.

Was anxious to try this after all the buzz. Pop and pour and followed over two hours. This wine has a great nose of ripe dark fruit, with a suggestion of oak, though none sticks out. Ripe and full bodied on the palate, made in a middle of the road style that doesn't sacrifice any richness, but also shows no heat.

Dark wine with a pretty nose of bright red fruit and oak, which is nicely integrated. On the palate this is much brighter, higher acid and with less depth than I was expecting. I think that's more a function of the vineyard than anything.

Drinking at it's best yet from two recent bottles consumed. Tannins are nicely resolved, while maintaining a nice balance of fruit. This was totally closed in 2011 when I opened by first bottle. What a difference seven years makes!
