Apricot, citrus, surprising acidic, smooth, balanced, wide variance from tart to candied fruit. Clean, bright with a very lingering finish. Wish I had more. Nothing off.

GRAND TASTING #2: Exposed leakage/soaked cracked cork. Removed with two prong. Clear, thin brown/red color, some brown edge. Although corked to some degree, bottle was still palatable. Poured into glasses for 2 hours. Intense nose. This drank like very old/aged wine, tawny port'ish, nice fruit through the flaw. Plum, red cherry, should have been at least 93 pts if sound. Long finish. Tough luck but you get a bad bottle now and then.

Still very fresh and bright with a fruity tart finish. Med body, good length, balanced and no hint of over the top. Great value at $23, on-line retailer.

Clear, med purple/ruby. Muted nose. Even with decant, the wine was tight and closed up. Very brooding black fruit. Med body, integrated but lacked brightness. Better with glass time and maybe that was the problem. Not really over the top, maybe in a locked down phase. $62 winery direct

Decanted for 1 hour and return to bottle to service 1 hour later. Clear w/very minor fine sediment. Med purple/red color. Muted nose first thing, then med with 15 mins glass time. Initially raw, tight, astringent and a bit rough. After 30 mins, wine developed nicely with med body, rounded out and fruit came out. Long finish, integrated and will hold for another few years. Dry and definitely not over extracted. $54 winery direct.

From .375, 2 hour decant. Clear, dark purple color, med/long legs. Ideal exceptional nose, Bordeaux Blend plus some Carmenere. This is superb wine. Unbelievable balance and integration, med body with perfect a soft/feminine smoothness. Tannins resolved, incredibly drinkable with no rough edges whatsoever. Mixed fruit profile and so restrained, one could drink an entire bottle with no effort. Delicious and already in a good drinking window. Nothing off with a more restrained almost French style. Exceptional stuff, nothing off. $300 retail, $254 sale.

Decanted 3 hours. Med purple/ruby, med/full nose. This wine is spot on and simply delicious. A touch lighter than the CA big boys if nevertheless shows power for an Oregon. Fully resolved tannins, super smooth and integrated, the balance is ideal. One could pound down the entire bottle in short order. Drink now, nothing off. Rob's bottle.
