Very nice for the price. Slightly thin look with tinges of brown at the edges. Dry taste/nose and a slightly pleasant acidity. Overall I like it and could see it as a nice daily drinker or good accompaniment for meat or lighter Italian fare

Good qpr. Light and a bit thin in the glass. Dry chalky in the mouth with an abbreviated aftertaste. But I like it for the price.

Good qpr. Light color, fruity nose, slightly short finish. But solid for the (low) price.

Had two bottles at a group dinner. Drinking very well. Light garnet color, wonderful mouthfeel and great with beef. Not sure if it will improve from here but in a great place right now.

Huge improvement after resting for a few years. Still very light for a cab, from the cork to the pour but flavorful now with a light fruity start that has enough backbone to be very pleasant in the mouth. Has developed nicely.

High octane alcohol seemed to have settled down. Much preferred this now over a few years back.

Muted nose initially. Tasted a little and decanted/drank over 1 hour. Lighter in the mouth than I expected with an accompanying light ruby color. Overall had a slightly sophisticated more subtle feel/taste to it vs. some other regional zins but not enough complexity for me to be worth the price. Have one more that I will sit on to see if it develops a bit on the rack but didn't really get the sense that it would. Enjoyable but not overly memorable.

Had another bottle and thought it had already improved since a few months ago. Is possible it just needed to settle down after shipment but livelier feel in the mouth and had that classic terraces lingering spice that I remembered from earlier vintages.

Nose a bit closed but it's young so not unexpected. Dark color, possibly more so than the last few vintages. Taste of dark fruits with a bit of a cinnamon spice. Residual taste (aftertaste) always pleasing with this wine, perhaps slightly chalkier/drier but likely to improve as it sits and evolves over next few years. Consistently one of my favorite zins.

Peppery nose, light mouth feel with a faded purple color that I would've expected to be darker after a very dark cork that looked great coming out of bottle. Notes of olive as well measured by a little jam/over ripe fruit. A good turley. Mature fruit to me, not sure I'd expect improvement.

Very impressed -- had at a restaurant group dinner. Based on where it's offered it was priced well. Light to medium color, floral nose, shows very well on the open. Drinking great now. I will keep an eye out for it.

Can't remember what I paid, but assuming it was around $20 I think this is very solid. A little light colored, plenty of fruit and while not overly complex it was very enjoyable. I'd drink if it up now, not overly tannic and wouldn't expect it to get any better.

Tried one early with others left to lay down. Really solid, may even prefer vs 2013 and 2012. Soft, round and perhaps a bit more lively than other recent vintages and maybe just more approachable at a young age. Good even on the open although decanted for an hour+ into some steaks but did well on its own too.

Seems to have settled down over the last year or two. Not overly complex but very nice weight/feel in the mouth. A bit short on the finish. I think there are better Zins at this price point but a solid Turley.

Really enjoyable and was a crowd pleaser. Not that easy to find, but haven't gone wrong with any of the Secoya varietals. This had a nice nose, and long typical napa aftertaste. I'd put it in more of the entry level cab category, but a definite leader in the space.

strong olive and dark fruit, almost similar to some amarones I've had. lively out of the bottle, put into a decanter but didn't notice a significant change over time.

Not to be a downer but thought it was decent just not special. Perhaps just not my style. Got the grassy/earthy feel but just not enough complexity for me.

Terrific wine. Funk on the open lasted seconds and made way quickly into the classic spring mountain nose. Seemed to be drinking very well at the moment and while I've been going through my 2012 Merlots, I was reminded of how solid the pride cab is. I decanted but not sure it was even necessary.

Received as a gift. Light and pleasant zin with plenty of lively fruit. I think there are other zins out there that are better (more complex and refined) if the price point I'm seeing is legit (around $40).

Very light stained cork on the open for a cab. Nose seems ok, musty taste, good color. A bit underwhelming overall but will be interesting if this develops over time. Would wait if you have it.

Nose was astringent, tasted flat and overall not enjoyable. Saved most of the bottle and served the next day later on at a dinner party. No one complained but couldn't take it on myself to have again. Will lay the 3 remaining down and hope for the best. Will follow-up if I see improvement or it was just bad bottles.

served for a group after short decant. crowd pleaser and seems to be at a nice qpr. amazingly was not blown out of the water by a magnum of 2006 montelena cab that was served for dinner. not sure if that says more about this bottle or a slightly unimpressive montelena.

Drank a 375ml. Really needs significant time to open. Was very disappointed initially, thought color looked fine but nose was closed and the wine seemed shut down. Didn't wait as long as I should have as after 1.5 hrs it finally came into its own, just in time for the last few sips. Highly recommend a long decant, which I will do for my remaining bottle--and this experience makes me think there's plenty of time left to wait and let it transform further on the rack.

Loaded with gritty tannins so may benefit from more time on the rack. This is my third bottle, each about a year apart. I did not notice significant improvement from the last bottle. A nice representation of spring mtn, pleasant/soft in the mouth and all around enjoyable. If I had more I'd probably wait a few more years to see how it progresses--but I enjoyed it.

1 of 12. While a tad young it has the same bones as the last two vintages and already drinking very well. Outstanding nose with lively spices highlighted by cinnamon/nutmeg. Yet to be disappointed with a bottle from these guys. A terrific zin.

1 of 3 for me that I had been sitting on. Cork split on the open, although decanted and wine was fine. Tasted near the open and then decanted for 1 hr +. Improved as it sat. Light bodied, good nose, very impressive mid palate, finish that lengthened as it opened. Very good wine and had it at a tasting several years ago without being impressed...so must've needed the extra time. What you'd hope for with more great years ahead.

may have had a bad bottle the first time as this was much better and it's doubtful time on the side could account for the improvement. While still not the quality I remember from an earlier vintage, closer and was enjoyable this time around.

impressive transformation over the last few years. Starting to come into its own with a classic Napa blend vibe and plenty of pop. Still enough tannins not to hurry but those that have waited should be pleased. Dark with plenty of legs, great nose -- drinking well

had a prior vintage a few years back, 2006 I believe, and recall a lively and well-made wine with a great qpr. Have now had 2 of this year with 2 left and so far am disappointed. Something is off and just not what I was hoping. Nose, mid palate and aftertaste all lacking life to me.

had as a second bottle with steak following a big but younger cab. Seemed much more evolved than last time I tried it and while still lacking depth, a mellow/pleasant fruit made it much more enjoyable. Held its own despite being right behind a heavy hitter.

Had with group dinner and was very pleased. Outstanding nose and surprisingly lively given it had a bit of age on it. Was drinking perfectly and didn't think it was close to over the hill. One of the better Silver Oaks I've had -- more life and closer to that classic Napa cab you'd expect -- after some disappointing bottles. Stored in wine cellar after direct purchase from winery.

Had several bottles at a dinner -- paired with a range of food. Nice color, not particularly dark. Impressive mid palate with very soft texture. Finish was not as lengthy as some other big cabs I like, however great taste with lively fruit helped make up for it. A better vintage for this wine than what I recall in the 2010 or 2011.

1 of 6 and one day off the truck from the vineyard, so likely to have been stored optimally. Tasted and then decanted/drank for 1.5 hrs. Light color and a bit closed on the open. Very fruit forward and improved slightly as it sat but fairly consistent throughout. I like bigger zins than this but it is refined enough to pull it off -- that said, there's better out there if you pay full price (which I didn't).

Had at the vineyard while staring at the vines, so might have been a bit influenced by the surroundings but thought it was very good. Bright, flavorful, lively and very enjoyable. And I'm not typically partial to whites -- a good juice

First out of a case for me and only 1 day off the truck. Incredibly inky/dark with cork almost stained black. Dark fruit dominates without much spice coming through for me. Appeared to be drinking well -- very pleasing and representative of that district in napa

Tasted during a visit/tour at the vineyard. Blew me away and changed my perspective on merlot. Very dark/complex and cab-like, however fruitier and livelier than a typical napa cab. Also got a sneak preview of what is about to hit in the upcoming release and expect that will be outstanding (if not better). Have some bottles coming my way and will see how/if it continues to progress -- but great at the moment.

Terraces is consistently one of my favorite zins. 2012 had a strong mid-palate with nutmeg and lively spices. Was a tad short for me on the finish and I'm not sure I'd expect much improvement in the future (by letting it sit on the rack) vs. earlier vintages. Prefer the 2011.

Tried at a tasting dinner for Sinskey and thought it was great. Not typically a big pinot noir drinker but this had great depth, a lively nose and was the wine of the night even against their POV and Stag's Leap -- both of which likely need to sit longer (2010 and 2009 respectively)
