This Bourgogne is in a nice place now and will drink well for a couple of years still at least if stored properly. A good intro to the Jadot house style. A bit more rich and dark than other houses’ Bourgognes. A good entry level house wine which would be versatile with a variety of dishes.

This is improving as it ages. Much better today than previous bottles. I now can see that this will still improve from here. This is rich on the palate with good concentration. Nose is slightly muted and benefits from some aeration. Good finish. Recommended.

This is just entering its drinking window, but will still benefit from more time. Needs to breath a bit to show its best at this stage. Very good concentration and intensity. A terroir wine that reflects its origin, with a lot of earth and minerals on the palate. Don’t expect a light refreshing wine here. Will try to hold off on the remaining bottles for a few years.

This is still young. Colour is dark. Reminds one of a Bordeaux in a lot of ways. This is just coming into its drinking window. Tannins are softened, but this will still benefit from more aging. Should get more complex with time. Impressive.

Typical of Drouhin house style, elegant, pure and clean fruit. A lighter Bourgogne than some but very drinkable. As I taste some 2017s at the Bourgogne level, it makes me optimistic about the quality of this vintage. Drink now.

This is a nice straightforward Bourgogne. Very clean on the nose and palate, as is typical of Latour. Indeed, the house style shines through here. Definitely worth considering as a house red / daily drinker. Drink now.

Of several generic Bourgognes tasted recently, this one shone the brightest. It has a bit more complexity than others and has a delicious strawberry element on the palate. A great house red. Drink now.

Of several generic Bourgognes tasted recently, this was the second best, after the Faiveley. Good concentration. Good grip. Impressive fruit. Drink now.

This is very nice, I enjoyed it as a casual drinker, no hard edges, a nice clean tasting Bourgogne. Very little tannin so good to drink now.

Colour is fairly dark. Some reduction on the nose which blew off after about an hour. Eventually nose shows distinctive Burgundy character. Good concentration for a Bourgogne, with some tannic grip. Finish is somewhat long with light tannins perceptible. Good with steak!

From a magnum. Nose is nice, showing some green elements at first but later a typical cabernet nose of blackcurrant. Some intensity on the palate, at first the acid and tannin stood out. After several hours of breathing the palate seemed more integrated. Finish is fairly long. I believe this wine is just entering maturity. It’s a good wine, but I would like it to be more distinctive. But overall I’m impressed.

I enjoyed the ‘15 of this wine, but this ‘16 is even better. After and hour or two of breathing (no decanting), this really hit it’s stride. There wasn’t anything that stood out, just excellent balance of all the components. Lots of slightly bitter cherry fruit. Delicious. Drink now.

Dark purple, looks young. Some wood on the nose. In the mouth it is fairly rich and integrated with a touch of tannin on the finish. Drink now or age a couple of years. Very nice entry level Bordeaux. Composition is 63% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc.

My last bottle of the ‘15. This wine is in a nice place having aged a couple of years. Barely noticeable tannin, fruit is vibrant. A great everyday drinker / cellar defender! I like that the big houses of Burgundy like Bouchard are putting out a quality product at the entry level. Another thing to note is that Bourgognes like this do improve with a couple of years cellar time, maybe peaking at age 5?

Fairly intense dark colour, very slight ambering at the edge. Sweet cassis nose. Palate has medium concentration, quite dry with some vibrant acidity. Finish displays some tannin. Better with food at this point. Try now with red meat or cellar for a couple of years for some evolution.

Drier than I expected, would like to taste a 6 puttonyos side by side for comparison. Colour is getting darker now that it is 10 years old, dark amber is a good descriptor. Palate is sweet but also has some slightly astringent grip, which is pleasant. Enjoyed it and would like to explore more of the wines of Tokaj. Tasted from a half bottle.

Unfortunately the cork crumbled when opening, but no impact to the wine after straining when decanting. Still appears fairly young. Slightly simple on the palate. Can age further but good to drink now.

This is a bit austere at the moment on its own and benefits from matching with food. This went well with sushi. It will likely unwind as it ages, so perhaps one to age a bit further.

I like this, it has a lot going on, but simply too young to my tastes. I feel I will like this better in 4-5 years when it has integrated better and shows more nuances.

Dark colour with slight bricking at the edge. Nose shows a lot of oak, both American and French. Palate is balanced, with extremely smooth tannins. However, this wine hasn’t really evolved yet, and it really needs 5-7 years for all the components to integrate and for the bouquet to develop. It can certainly be consumed now with some red meat, but to my taste it still has a way to go.

A previous bottle was undrinkable and over the hill. Fortunately, I’ve had the opportunity to taste another now. This one is still in good shape. Mature aromas, medium sweetness, medium concentration. A fairly long finish that has some slight astringency. Drink now before it takes on more of an aged tawny character.

This is just ready to my palate, and benefits from a couple of hours decanting. Straight out of the bottle, it shows too oaky and wound up. This lives up to its reputation as a Bordeaux from British Columbia. Enjoyed it.

Colour is still young. Aromas show noticeable oak, with some earthy truffle notes and dark cherries. Palate is smooth and well-balanced, as long as one doesn’t mind a bit of oak. This wine is delicious. It is also quite rich, so be sure to pair it with a dish with enough flavour to match it.

Colour is brick, and implies a wine that is well on its way to maturity. But the palate suggests otherwise, some youthful tannins remaining and the wine seems a bit closed. No rush to drink this, I don’t think. Let’s see if it comes together when I try another bottle in the future.

This appears to be quite forward, with some bricking and mature aromas. Also minimal tannin. This may not have been stored optimally. Having said that I enjoyed it. It was a good companion to Spanish cheeses.

Although a brut zero, this easily has enough fruit to give a perception of slight sweetness. I wouldn’t want this any sweeter than it is, and is not austere at this time. Very refreshing.

Starting to show signs of maturity. I can taste the Cabernet and merlot in this, which gives it a slightly Bordeaux-like profile. Internationally-styled, well-made, with no flaws. Could be a bit more exciting and display more unique character. Impressive considering the huge production of this wine.

Colour is slight bricking at the edge but is still youthful. Beautiful nose typical of maturing red burgundy. Palate is still slightly youthful. This could evolve positively with more time but it is also in a good place for consumption today, depending on one’s taste preferences. Shows typical Drouhin elegance.

Light gold colour. No sign of premature oxidation. A pleasant wine but somewhat lacking in complexity. Medium concentration, well balanced. Certainly not overripe. I am going to drink any remaining bottles this year, I don’t see any upside to keeping further.

Brick colour. Beautiful nose leading to a somewhat harsh palate which I believe might be due to reduction. But in any case, after a few hours of decanting, the palate improved completely. In the end, it is a Burgundian styled wine coming into its maturity at this time. Well balanced.

A strong effort, comparable to a village wine from the Côte de Beaune. Could do with a bit more concentration and complexity to take it to the next level. Drink now.

This has integrated, but it’s not singing. Not sure if it ever will sing, but it will keep easily for a few more years or more. It might be slightly shut down still. The aromas are subtle. I feel this is slightly rustic / Rhone-like on the palate. It’s a good wine, and priced affordably, so I have no complaints, but would like a bit more excitement. Possibly it will improve in the future.

Intense dark purple, not a lot on the nose. Palate is concentrated with good rich dark berry fruit. Some heat on the finish. A bit too extracted for my tastes, but I don’t doubt this is a crowd pleaser. Will it improve?

Delicious after opening up for about an hour. Some sediment at the bottom of the bottle, so decanting might be advisable. Some tannin still there, which adds grip. Great now but could still improve over the next couple of years.

This is a quite ripe Chardonnay from Niagara, with a light gold colour. More Burgundian than New World in my opinion. Medium concentration on the palate, medium finish. No hard edges, very easy end enjoyable to drink. Could benefit from some more complexity, which perhaps is due to the relatively young vines in this region vs. Burgundy. Enjoy now.
