Classic pinot color, young and vibrant in the glass. Two well married elements make up the nose, red fruits, cranberry, strawberry and spice. This blend is a beautifully intriguing introduction. When it hits your lips the silky tanins do all the prep for the elegant fruit to make its entrance. The spiced cranberry and strawberry deliver and evolve through to a raspberry finish. This is a fresh and elegant wine that has very well balanced tanins and acidity. A tasty gift from the vignes in Savigny-lès-Beaune that should not be over looked.

The brillant golden color of this wine make it hard to resist. A beautifully integrated nose floats in the glass. The first hints are toasty marsh-mellow camp fire. This is followed up with a mélange of wet stone, citrus, mellon and white flower all deliciously incorporated. On the palate this wine has a story to tell. Starting off very subtle, it slowly envelops your mouth with its relatively full body. The minerality is present complemented by mellon, white pear and grapefruit. As it develops into the second act an awesome zippy lemon-lime zestyness takes you through to the finish. Where it all wraps up with that same interesting first nose aroma of toasty marsh-mellow camp fire meets pear. Nice length in the back end. This is a well balanced wine with a good focused and lively acidity, that will surely develop nicely as it ages. Ultimately a true example of the real potential of chardonnay in Savigny-lès-Beaune.

The more I am drinking, the further the wine evolves, the easier I can place that zippyness... it really brings me right to Margaritavill! It even follows through on the finish now, really beautiful, home made, salt rimmed, fresh limes, Margaritavill.

Elegant and smooth the tannins have developed well. Drinking well now and I believe it will keep going another 5 years (but dont hesitate drinking now, its beautiful). Black current and berries, slight bark smell and a hint of green pepper. Nice balance and complexity. Enjoyed

This wine has improves and while it shows signs of decline it is very pleasant to drunk now. great balance between the Gamy and the Pinot. Simple and fruity. drink with a slight chill.

Not much change since it was released in 2007-8. Maybe a more pronounced vanilla finish. I understand why people enjoy this simple straight forward wine. I can say confidently that it won't get any better with time.

All the elements of a great wine are here. They are just so awkwardly composed that the wine leaves you wanting more. I am losing hope that this wine will ever come together.

Interesting age on the bottle. However, the wine has developed a bit of awkwardness. The attack is to the point however through the mid-palate and the finish it is very disjointed. Interesting but nothing to write home about.

Nice valpolicella. Intense flavors. Plums and dark cherries backed by chocolate and leather. Slightly too much sweetness but the wine does not lack too much structure. With the sweetness I expect that it will last a good few more years.

This is the champagne we served at our wedding so it was appropriate to share a bottle on our first anniversary. The nose is starting to develop some age with hints of sour notes developing but a great deal of complexity. The bottle was highly effervescent. The chardonnay was very refreshing and crisp in the mouth with nice apples and pears. Seems like it has quite some years ahead to continue to develop.

Bottle purchased at the domain and aged in our cellar for 2 years. The bouquet developed some mushroom notes and a slight sour smell. The wine was still crisp and lovely. Interesting development however, it did not seem to be more preferable, just different.

The wine was served a bit cold. It is key to serve around 10 degrees. The cold brought out a lot of the citric flavors and we thought at times that it was too lemony (lemon peel tart). But as it warmed up its buttery smoothness mellowed out the acid. Demi.

Caramelized pear, chalky minerality... this is a well rounded champagne. This bottle had almost two years in our cellar and that time did great things for it. Unfortunately, no more bottles left.

Musty, smooth and buttery with low to mild acidity on the finish. Fat in the mouth with tastes of pear, honey and the acidity on the finish comes through with sour hints. Nevertheless, it has a grapy sweetness which binds with the buttery flavor to give off a toasted sugar flavor which has helped this wine hang on. The pear flavor lingers on for a rather long finish.

Nice golden color. Opened a bit too cold and the nose was muted. Once it had heated up a bit it became a lot more interesting. A smell of mushrooms or uncooked pasta with some citrus fruits and we got hints of a weird metallic/blood smell. In the mouth the wine is full bodied with good acidity that holds the wine together during the attack. Through the mid palet to the finish the wine rounds out to a smooth graceful finish. Orange, citrus, even some cherries saying hi. The fruit is there and the initial acidity balances it well. (The metallic smell comes and goes and is a bit off putting. - This could be a side effect of the food paring.) All in all a nice chard but coming from such a special place I would expect a bit more complexity.

Disgorged March 2010. Great attack of crisp apple. The pinot shows through on the finish with flavors of apple and black current. As it warms up I am getting a distinct wonder bread toast smell. Nice balance of acidity and minerality. Showing some floral notes in the mid pallet and on the finish.

Strawberries lead to a citric almost tropical fruit which later was decided was a banana. Great wine nicely put together and showing extremely well. Fresh and interesting.

Poured into the glass a brilliant yellow gold color. Initially on the nose we picked up the honey, some light fruit like pears and the yeast components but the true pleasure of this wine comes when it hits your lips. Tasting the wine make you think chardonnay although your mouth is telling you champagne. The oaky, honey, buttery flavors give the wine the taste of an aged burgundy white. The wine while full bodied does have some interesting fruit flavors mainly old apples. The finish is where the wine tied back together. The truely unique and interesting wine merged the beautifully aged chardonnay and the champagne with a nice nutty (peanuts?) finish. If you like wine like champagnes then try this, if that's not really your thing try it anyway but with some food!

We had a more official tasting discussion about this wine. Everyone had puckered faces. The wine just didnt seem right. I dont think there was any defect but the wine is really falling apart now. Disjointed and confused this wine breaks into awkard parts in your mouth. There are still hints of tobacco and coffee/chocolate. Being in the bottle for a couple of years did not do any favors to this wine.

Bottle aged in our cellar for a year. The wine developed a more distinct smell and taste. Initially, I met a sweet almost vanilla which later was agreed to be a Crème Brulée. There were a lot of tropical fruits present in the mouth. Sweet grape fruit and hints of pineapple. Notes of toast but not the yeasty bits I am use to from this wine. Over all my experience has been that this wine is great after being laid down for around a year.

Great presence. The wine has a full mouth coating body which contrasts to its light and elegant flavor. Almost reminiscent of a pinot noir. Full of cherry, strawberries and earth. At its peak now.

Served with a rocket salad with bacon, pears and Parmesan. Nice moderate nose with honey, grass, citrus, smoke and some floral elements. The wine while sweet has a good acidity which keeps it in check. Although it is still quite syrupy with honey in the mid-palate before it grabs ahold with the tight acidity and rocky minerality. The wine was integrating with the salad well and the fruit matched great with hints of pears and green apples (different from my last note). Over all a great wine but probably should not be touched for another 6 years. I have heard that these wines are approachable during the first year but after do into a sleep for a few years. Put together very nicely, complex and interesting, leave this one in your cellar for a while.

Green yellow tint that looks relaxed in the glass. The nose has a bite to it as the minerality comes through which follows nicely on the palate. Tropical and citrus fruits. Great acidity that ties it all together. Peach and honey coming through on the finish. Coats the mouth with round slightly thick wonderful presence.

The wine smells and tastes beautifully aged and peaking. Smells like a cloud of mixed flowers and perfume with some deep perfectly integrated smells of maybe nutty/spicy too beautiful to put into words. Light and smooth but still very complex. Light taste of blueberries and faint tangerines. A hint of liquorish that comes through with the age. Super long carmel finish. Great, great wine right at its peak.

Wines are still cold coming out of the cellar. Took time to warm up. While cold it had a chalky texture to it which dissipated once warm. Nice fruit, easy drinking.

Opened a bottle and it seems to be vinegar now. Will try another bottle but seems no good any more.
