The wine was excellent right out of the bottle. I just poured it through a wine aerator. Soft tannins on the palate indicated that the wine has mellowed since I first tasted it over a year ago. I still have three more bottles. When I read the drinking window was until 2013 I was a little concerned and wanted to open at least one bottle. I am not touching anymore bottles for at least six more months. This is a superb wine to have with red meats.

Nice floral notes on the nose. Very fruity and somewhat harsh tannins for the first taste. Tannins became harsher with subsequent tastes. Not impressive for the price paid around $20 a bottle. Just slightly above average wine.

Very good wine. Sweet wine and oak barrel aging gives this wine good character. Hints of vanilla and berries. Tastes better after decanting it for 1/2 hour.

Pretty good wine. Nothing spectacular. Will not buy another bottle. The first bottle was a gift.

Very smooth tanins. Oak barrel aging for 18 months produced an excellent dry wine with hints of vanilla, chocolate and spices.

Just ok. I have not been impressed by French Bordeaux wines.

One of the best wines I have tasted. The 2006 very clearly dominated and surpassed the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Rodney Strong cabs.

Very good floral scents on the nose. Nice balance of oakiness and fruit. Decanting did not change the taste.

Excellent and outstanding wine. Decant this wine and drink in one sitting. The wine has very smooth tannins and a pleasant oak barrel taste. It is a little bit pricey but an excellent wine to open if you want to impress someone.

Floral nose. I usually prefer red wines but I was impressed by this white wine.

Excellent taste and smooth tanins especially if you let this wine breathe for about 1/2 hour.

Excellent nose. Well balanced tannins and oak barrel aging make this a great wine. Tastes much better if you decant this wine or let it breathe for about 30 minutes.

At the price this is an excellent wine if you like Cab Franc. I have been told that Cab Francs are usually added to Bordeaux blends, primarily because they tend to be drier than other varietals. Also very few wineries produce 100% Cab Francs. This wine from Cosentino Winery is an excellent buy. Tannins may seem harsh at first but drink it after it hs been decanted for at least 1/2 hour and the tannins smooth out for a very pleasant drinking experience.

I was not impressed by the nose on this one. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. Although a little bit sweeter than most cabs, it was very good. A simple wine with no hints of oak barrel aging. Tannins were smooth. I got this as a gift but saw others had priced it at about $6 a bottle. At that price it is definitely a great purchase!

Excellent nose. Tannins may seem harsh on the palate initially but let the wine breathe and the taste mellows considerably. The wine has been barrel-aged for 19 months in a combination of French and American oak. Try consuming the wine the same day as it is opened. The wine doesn't taste as good the next day even if you vacuum seal it.

Excellent nose and a great taste. The oak barrel aged Cab-Shiraz blend tasted very good. The taste improves if you let the wine breathe a little. I was sceptical to buy it at first because (1) it is an Australian wine at this price (~$18), and (2) the wine bottle had no cork but an ordinary screw top. However, try this wine. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Good nose but a disappointing taste. The taste did improve after I let the wine breathe a little bit. I would suggest that people should decant the wine and wait at least 1/2 hour before drinking.

The mistake most people make is to drink the wine directly after they open the bottle. With many good wines, it does help to let the wine breathe for a little while. What is a little while? I think it should be a minimum of 15 min. If you have the patience wait for 30 minutes before you pour the wine.

Good nose with hints of black cherry and blackberries. Well-balanced tannins, earthy oak flavor and good fruit, work wonders on the palate and makes this wine one of my favorite cabs. I just bought a case for $15 a bottle plus shipping and paid a total of $202 for the case from CityWineCellar.com - it works out to about $17 a bottle with shipping. I plan to drink this from now until 2012.

Good nose with hints of oak and fruits. Tastewise, I sensed a fine balance of berries and oak barrel aging. It tasted more like a $20 bottle of wine. I would definitely rate this a 90.

The 2008 Castle Rock Pinot Noir has a mild nose. Tastewise it was very smooth, had a nice fruity flavor. Drink it after you air it for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Overall, it is a pretty good Pinot Noir for the price which is roughly $9.

I was very disappointed with the 2007 Rodney Strong Cabernet Sauvignon. I went to Costco to purchase the 2006's and they were out of it, so I bought this instead. I did order a case of the 2006 Rodney Strong Cab online. As others have noted, the nose on the 2007 cab was rather weak. However, the taste was not that bad. It had hints of fruit and some oak flavor, but not as impressive as the 2006 RS cab.
