really nice. opened a few hours before dinner- I was worried because the cork had shown some seepage under the foil, but the wine was fine. Still had jammy berry fruit, but with a presence of vanilla as well.

brought home from my storage place and opened. first night pre-opening I was worried that it was slightly sour, but after an hour it opened up and was nice. On the 2nd night even better- balanced, no barrel vanilla or things like that- seemed to be a straightforward cab w/ some vegetal notes like bell pepper or eucalyptus, but more mellow than when I bought it. take these notes w/ a grain of salt, I haven't had much cab lately and I haven't been writing notes in a very long time. If you have this, open one up and let me know what you think.

Really nice- had chilled with a roast chicken dinner. Light body but still structured enough.

update on previous notes- sweet, and some wood/vanilla/oak initially
needs some air after opening which helps a bit with the vanilla barrel. it's not bad at first, just enough to note. I like it

the guys at K&L were right- this really needs a lot of air for now (or to be laid down). I opened mine, tasted it, and let it sit in bottle for about 3 hours. It really opened up well. I'm not good at describing tastes any more but I found a type of dried apricot type fruit mixed with a dark berry compote. nice price and nice bottle if you have the time

tasted much better after decanting and the 2nd/3rd nights
really nice fruit taste and smell- mostly reminding me of ripe plums with just a hint of sour on the finish- but not distractingly so. I thought there was a little tiny bit of pepper the first night, but it wasn't there later.

a wee bit on the sweet side, some lychee
decent balance w/ the acid and sweet though, went well with food

finally trying this- I had bought and pre-ordered after barrel tasting. not sure if it needed more air or maybe it was bottle shocked after moving it from the office to my house. but it seemed tight and something was off on the bouquet. it's possible I had a corked bottle, but I'll come back and retry it on the 2nd night and update the tasting note.

EDIT: raising the score to 83. It was definitely better the 2nd night. some plum taste and bouquet. very present wood on the nose. still a bit tight. just a tiny hint of pepper on the finish- textbook tempranillo maybe? I'll try future bottles with food and definitely give them more air.

I really enjoyed this - very fruity and sweet candy. bouquet was subtle, some jam on the nose, nothing too hot. taste was like sweet red fruit, almost haribo cherry gummy candy too. needs some more time- but it's well balanced with good acidity now, but if you're not a sweet fruit lover, wait a while.

opened for 45-60 mins to give it some air before dinner. muted fruit as others have said, but fortunately the oak was muted for me too so the balance worked out. Slight black pepper finish over ripe cherry. Not bad for the price- comes pre-aged. Not sure if further aging would do anything- drink now.

this was a really pleasant bottle- I had it in a sweet spot where it wasn't too cold from the cellar but cooler than room temp.

slightly sweet, with hint of lychee and good fruit, almost vioginer-esque - had for dinner with chicken pot pie and it stood up to the rich sauce

I don't recall much of the bouquet unfortunately.

nice and surprisingly good (I had low expectations)

Opened this for a work wine happy hour, no decanting. Would pair well with food. I think it's in its prime and should be opened sooner rather than later. There's a meat and bell paper taste but there's a very strong wood presence as well. It's not overwhelming but you pick up on it. The tannins are nice and I liked the finish, nothing cloying and it's well balanced.

if not for the intentional oak tones it'd rate higher for me, but a great cab, especially at the price.

shared this with coworkers as a change of pace - the graciano was really nice, very fruity with a hint of astringency if you were looking for it. big hit with the group.

this was the first copain I've had that took forever and a day to open up. we opened and decanted very early before dinner but it really could have used a few more hours. I don't recall the others in the same vintage from baker needing the same time. still a good wine- but if others have this in cellar then maybe try one to see if it's drinking window is shrinking?

juicy red and dark mascerated fruit, dark color... very even from first taste to finish on the palate - even keeled

opened this after drinking a juicy syrah, so it immediately had an impression of being thick and inky, serious red stone fruit and some spice on the finish, but not heavy. I didn't air it- just pop-n-pour. I'll come back and edit this note on the 2nd night

edit- 2nd night it had mellowed out quite a bit, but would still stand up to a nice meaty dinner. Mellowed enough that I could taste some of the oak, the pepper finish wasn't stronger or weaker, still nice. bumping this up to 89pts

I let this sit open for about an hour before dinner. We had a nice meaty dinner and this paired perfectly- mellow fruits and jam and a hint of pepper on the finish- see the other notes on this- I agree w/ them

this was a big hit pre-dinner. good balance w/ fruit and acid- although it may be almost at it's peak - so if you have it start opening it soon.

fruit overwhelmed by old barrel wood (note, I don't mean oak-y, but old wood) and other funk, and not the good kind of funk. acid mellowed out. any brightness from the fruit was long gone. the consensus at the tasting was that this should have been bottled and sold in 2010 and not aged. it was a decent experiment, but unfortunately it went wrong.

A decent carignane. Floral, light fruit, good acid and structure. Better with food after an hour being open. Probably the best wine from this winery.

I found this wine a bit confusing as I'm used to the Loring pinots and other makers' mourvedre. This reminded me of a Spanish-style mourvedre, but with much more wood. I wish I had decanted it, but dinner was slow so maybe I'm wrong. Interested in other notes and tasters.

only let this have a little bit of air, but it was very light with great fruit and minimal structure. another reviewer noted that this may be at peak now- s/he may be right.

as others mentioned, great for the price point- but that was an after-the-fact consideration. I thought it was a good wine with a Spanish character, but I didn't know it was a Cab until I went back and looked at it. I thought it was a different type of blend. Interesting and worth picking up.

2nd bottle I've had- for some reason this second one has a strange tart and sour finish. I'll give it more air and try it again on a 2nd day and come back and edit this if my opinion changes.

Otherwise, nice fruit and acid balance with slight fresh cherry on the tongue.

edit: 2nd night the astringent finish is gone. maybe I had some bad food before tasting or maybe it really needed air, I'm not sure. Added some points too.

really liked it (esp at the price) but it really dies quickly on the 2nd night- normally I can have a bottle (corked or w/ a vac stopper) for a day or three, but for some reason this one died off quickly and made me wish I had finished it opening night
I know this isn't a taste or smell note, but it was noteworthy so maybe this helps someone buying it

Similar notes to R Jennings. Really inky in the class, medium finish, some tartness- but interesting

possibly had some brett in the bottle- but not sure- my notes differ from other people's at the party- thought it was a nice old-world style with hints of earthiness and leather. really needed some food or cheese to balance with it- but to be fair I should have decanted it. I'll buy it again

my notes just say that I thought it was defective at first, but it may have been not paired to food right- semi-sour finish. 2nd night that it was slightly dry but better.

this was much better than I thought it'd be. I had to double-check that this was my "budget" wine for a wednesday. light yet with some backbone- great acid balance for good and a lot of fruit that backs off before you can say "jammy". some wood and spice on the finish. I want to go get some more and re-taste it. --also better on 2nd night like others noted
