The bottle says 14.5% alcohol but it drinks like there is much more. Rich black cherry, plum and licorice. Modern, oaky. Not much dimension or character here. It seems quite straight forward. It's certainly drinkable but it will be easily forgotten.

The oak is finally integrated and this is firing on all cylinders. Delicious Batard. Beautiful nose, lots of balance across the palate and finish. Nicely weighted and still precise.

Pretty nose, one dimensional...while it had some nice herbal notes and good acidity, the cherry/raspberry flavors on the palate were a bit too fruity....I wondered if the wine was meant to appeal to the white zin crowd.

Very nice...give it some time to open up. Solid and well balanced across the palate. Complex and layered with litchi, peach, apricot, a touch of smoke and herbs braced with minerals and lasting acidity on a finish that grows in your mouth.

Quite nice. Good weight, layering and focus across the palate with white fruit, minerals and hazelnuts. Fresh on the finish too.

Enjoyable. Mature red cherry and herbs with nice floral notes. Elegant, medium bodied and needed time to open. Drinking beautifully right now. Nice acid on the finish too.

Red fruit, licorice, pine, structure, and acidity on the palate with some tar added on the finish. Good intensity. Mature but still pretty good.

Still delightful. It was delicious in 2009 and it's delicious today. Red cherries, herbs, nicely balanced with some acidity. Medium bodied. Great value.

Good minerality and sweet red fruit. Just missing the weight and intensity you expect. No greeness which is a good sign.

This is singing right now. Ripe lemon, honey, flowers and a touch of char on the nose. The palate expands with layers of fruit, minerals and acid. Elegant, still intense and a wonderful mouth filling finish.

Still youthful and delish. Black fruit, tobacco, seamless, good balance of fruit and minerality. Nice finish too.

Delicious but young. Sweet black fruit, cedar, tobacco and graphite. Very clean and focused. Medium body but still excellent persistance throughout. This should have been decanted but it was a last minute dinner selection.

This didn't get me too excited but it was good. Black fruit, spice, and a touch of cedar. It's still showing some oak and it was a little lean on the mid-palate. It was missing that seamlessness I expected at this stage.

The purity of this wine is remarkable. Intense, elegant, silky, with sweet ripe blackberries, cassis, a touch of cedar and red meat. Beautifully scrumptious finish. Special.

Rustic red cherry, spice, tar, mocha and earth. Medium bodied, not particularly complex at this stage but still structured and very pleasant, food friendly and well made. I would drink these if they're in your cellar. The wine is certainly mature.

Mature and elegant with rich honey, white flowers and lime. Good depth across the palate and the lengthy finish which also displays nice acid to balance the richness of the wine.

This is becoming even better than it was a year or two ago. Excellent concentration and weight. The intense minerality is framed with white fruit, honey, lime, more citrus and a touch of hazelnut. It's just darn good.

Terrific village wine. Even for an 04, this wine has substance on the mid palate and wonderful balance. Sweet lemon meringue pie and granite nose. The palate is lemony with balancing acid, white fruit and minerals. Mid weight, quit nice. It's ready to drink now. What a bargain on release.

Structured, rustic. Lots going on in the nose but the palate is more austere with red fruit, lots of herbs, good acidity. Straight forward, not very complex but it has depth. It's good.

Terrific but young. Black and red cherry, licorice, minerals, excellent structure but it's still reserved. After an hour, it shows a bit of reduction the timing of which I found odd but overall, this has a great future.

Disappointing. It's not over the hill as other notes have said. It just has absolutely no cut and zero minerality. It's medium bodied, silky red cherries, strawberries, spice and ever present vanilla. The vanilla/oak is way too dominant. It has depth but little complexity and a lush finish. It's what I would expect from an oak chipped pinot noir but this isn't an oak chipped pinot noir! At this price point, no way. Sorry...... I've had a lot of really good W&S pinots but this is not one of them.

Delightful and what a value under $20. Medium bodied and crisp... perfumed with minerals, acid, apples, pears, flowers and a touch of honey. Nice mineraly finish too.

Certainly ready to drink but still fresh on the palate. Superb intensity with citrus, hazelnuts and honey on the nose, palate and solid finish. Oily with a touch of sulfur, all balanced with minerals and acidity.

quite good. Drink on the early side...perhaps the next 5 years. Medium bodied, balanced, cherry, and earth. Some harsher tannins soften with decanting but there's good mineraliy and appropriate acidity too.

This was much too young to open but there's still a lot here. Structured, substantial, dark fruit, coffee, earth but it really needs time. Give it at least 5 years.

Delicious and focused. A little more spice than I'd expect from a CM but still real good. Lots of white...flowers, fruit...very clean. Lots of minerals and a great finish that really opens up as the wine leaves your mouth. Still young. Not a hint of premox!

Good intensity without being heavy. This wine is in a good place right now but it still has lots of time. Cherries, earth, mushrooms and tobacco with excellent tannic structure and acidity.
Red
This is big, round, lush and comfortable like an old leather chair. But there's not much structure and virtually no acidity. Lots of black fruit, olive and still some oak. I'm not sure what happens to this in 5 to 10 years so if you like this style, drink it now.

This definitely needs air. It's deceptive when it's uncorked. It has a beautiful sweet floral nose and doesn't seem to be closed at all...but it is. Initially I appreciated the elegance and purity of this wine but wished it had more substance. After a couple of hours, the real wine shows up. It's still wonderfully elegant and pure with cherries, flowers, and lots of licorice but it is finally showing some depth and layering. It's very well integrated at this point. Good structure, balance, acidity and minerality on the back of the palate. It's not big but it's very good.

It's nothing special. It seems disjointed. Lots of herbs, earth and still some vanilla. The fruit seems to be fading and is clearly in the background. There's structure but the flavors are not melded like they should be at this stage.

This is a pretty good wine. It's medium bodied and mature with a sweet, floral and vanilla nose. The palate is medium bodied, meaty with lots of strawberry, herbs, earth, and cherry liquor. There's good structure and acidity too. Balanced, seamless.
White
Nice melon, stone fruit and floral and stone fruit along with minerals and a soilid lemony citrus component for acidity. Real tasty for a village wine, especially for the price.
Red
Pretty light red and quite transparent. Medium bodied, lots of dried cherry, rose, a good dose of licorice and earth. Good acidity, a nice food wine.
