Quite a nice surprise. Lighter bodied (my taste), floral, olive, balanced. 1999. Wish I had more.

Purple color, medium intensity, typical Estate nose. On palate, a bit hot, particularly on finish. Not as well integrated or balanced as anticipated. Maybe will calm down over time.

Purple color, medium intensity nose with black fruit, some leather, maybe even some butterscotch. On palate black cherries, plum, moderate tannins, very well balanced, leading to long, classic finish. Has many years left and drinking beautifully. I have a lot of vintages of the Estate and was beginning to wonder if I had too much, but this bottle made me think that maybe I need more. Part of a vertical with the 02 and the 10. Definitely prefer the older style.

Expressive nose with lemon, honeysuckle, green apple, white flowers, and slight saline/oyster shell. On palate refined, crisp, clean citrus flavors with some mid palate fat that leads to a long, clean finish. Drinking well.
White - Off-dry

Clear, gorgeous color of burnt orange, light brown, and dark amber. Pronounced sherry nose with petrol, ripe oranges, beeswax and some caramel. On palate honey, butterscotch, wax, and dried apricot with a silky, oily texture, high acidity, and a long, oxidized, sherry like finish. Not for everyone, but works for me.

Perfectly paired with Moroccan tagine. Dark ruby color, on nose red cherries, some strawberry, leather, hints of forest. On palate more cherry, some secondary flavors but mostly primary, velvety mouthfeel, a little heat. Good finish. Pleasant wine, drinks well now but has several years left.

Clear lemon color with crisp aromas of white flowers and citrus. On palate more citrus with lemon and grapefruit, some grass, and pronounced mineral flavors, including some ash but maybe knowing it comes from a volcanic region made me think of ash. Clean balanced finish. I enjoy Etna white wines and this is a good representation.

Opened with Coravin and drank right away. Dark ruby color. Strong perfumed nose of violet, strawberry, and raspberry liqueur. On palate all heat with little mid-palate flavors and harsh, hot finish. More like Santa Rita Hills than Chambolle Musigny. Something didn't seem right so poured another glass, waited an hour and things calmed down - more balanced perfume on nose, red fruit on palate with fine tannins and interesting finish. Will wait a few more years on remaining bottles and definitely will decant before drinking.

Popped and poured. Clear, ruby color. Upon opening and decanting a very pronounced nose of strawberry and rose, which shut down 30 minutes later but then reemerged with light intensity. On palate, strong red fruit with hints of black fruit (blueberry), very primary, low tannin, low to medium body, high acidity. Long finish. Elegant, pretty, not muscular or earthy at this stage. Will hold other bottles for 5 plus years to allow further development.

Clear, ruby color. Clean, medium plus nose (after opening), mostly red but some black fruit, herbal, lavender. Bright, concentrated, rich flavours, mostly primary, some secondary. Medium tannins, full bodied, still has a ways to go. Medium to long finish. A pretty wine close to optimal drinking window.

Tried again 2/14/15 with same notes

Had a sideways moment in that our restaurant gave us plastic cups for the wine. Honeysuckle, apricot, vanilla, touch of oak, long finish, elegant, lovely wine. My last bottle unfortunately.
