10/7/21, 1:42 AM - Hi, John! Thanks for commenting! I should also have written that the wine is exiting to drink now, but I wanted to highlight the most important; its cellaring potential (and - need).
10/5/21, 7:55 AM - Thank you for commenting. My bottle was too oaky and astringent for me. Maybe a bad bottle.
5/23/21, 2:32 PM - It was the white. I will correct. Thank You!
3/24/21, 8:57 AM - Thank tou for commenting. Only ten minutes in the decanter, but an hour+ in the glass.
9/11/20, 12:58 PM - Tung, saftig, nedfallsfrukt. Kan den ha vært oksydert?
8/30/20, 3:03 AM - I have not tasted many 2012's, but those I have tasted give evidence of a good vintage.
3/21/20, 3:41 PM - Thank You for your comment. Even though I remember it was very tart, it was also extremely energetic and promising.
2/13/20, 7:08 AM - Cheers!
12/17/19, 11:41 AM - Totally agree with your notes. This was sensational!
10/30/19, 11:22 AM - Thanks for your comment! I think we can agree that the Monprivato this year was not a success at Giuseppe Mascarello.
11/16/19, 12:11 PM - Good information. Thanks a lot!
8/10/19, 8:40 AM - Dear Dave, I would wait for 8-10 years on this one too. But it is also possible to drink them younger, with pleasure!
8/8/19, 11:53 AM - Thanks for commenting, vintage 1949. I would wait another 8-10 years.
1/20/19, 12:32 PM - Sorry, didn't get the number
10/3/18, 12:24 PM - Thanks for commenting! They are all drinking nicely now. But definitely no rush, especially not for the MdT. If I had several bottles I would drink them within 5-10 years.
5/18/18, 5:39 AM - Wine strategies; thanks for your comment!
1/22/18, 11:40 AM - I have tasted several wines from this producer. They normally last much longer than this. So, I suspect this was a bad bottle.
3/12/17, 1:21 PM - The wine was relatively dark, compared with the 100 % Nerello Mascalese wines, which are often very light.
2/24/17, 10:41 AM - There is something with the 2011 vintage in France that I don't like. They lack structure and the acidity is not integrated. But this may be personal preferences, of course.
1/9/17, 1:21 PM - Thanks for the sympathy. I love the Huet wines.
11/20/16, 7:55 AM - Er ikke så kjent med Alfred Gratien, men ville ikke lagret den mer enn 5 år til.
3/17/16, 3:23 AM - Thanks for comment! I have tasted many good wines from Bertheau earlier, so this was a little disappointing. But, I gave it 87 after all, which means it is not that bad (as the text maybe indicated).
10/26/14, 8:37 AM - Jeg lurte faktisk en stund på om de hadde satt feil etikett på flaskene... Som Barolo er den også særdeles "pusete". Kanskje det har kommet noe Pelaverga oppi?
10/6/14, 1:42 PM - Usakhegray: Thanks for the comment! Had to check with the importer, and they agree with you. Clape use Austrian oak barrels of 600 - 1200 litres, and they should not give much oak flavour, even when one is changed outwith a new one. I have now forgotten how it tasted, so I cannot say what I mistook for being oak.
8/10/14, 1:58 PM - Hi, G.M, thanks for the correction. Audun
6/23/14, 9:21 AM - Hi, I passed the question on to the guy who served the wine. Hope for an answer soon. Cheers!
6/24/14, 12:33 PM - Hi, the wine had a lot of primary fruit, which suggests it was still young. I don't have much experience with this wine, but Bill Nanson in Burgundy Forum suggests to drink them either young, or wait until they have past 10 years. I believe this will last for 10+ more years.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
