An unpleasant mix of candied cherry, new wood, alcohol, and vanilla extract. Modern in all the wrong ways.

Very elegant. Bright red fruit. Generous tannin starting to integrate. Acid and mineral backbone stands out at first but really opens up after 1 hr with more complex floral aromas and flavors.

Nice mature white Rhône blend. Apricot honey and vanilla. Very expressive nose. Beeswax thick viscous palate. Just a bit lacking acidity to hold up the freshness.

Popped for 40th bday celebration. Really elegant mature bdx. Fresh expressive nose of herbs, flowers, graphite and sandalwood. Cassis and cigar box and more graphite on the palate. Fully resolved velvety tannin. Long finish with bit of smoke and earth. Very nice.

Tasty and fresh. A little heavy on the oak at this point but nice zesty lemon with creamy rich mid palate and nice acid cut. Minerals and a bit of salinity on the finish. Better with air. Good+ for its level.

Deep intense dark purple color with nice nose of lavender and wet earth. Full blue/black fruit flavors and strong herbal/mineral tones. A bit disjointed on opening but mellowed out nicely by day 2. Give this one some air for sure. Good value overall.

PnP. Flat at first, with faint cedar and graphite notes, soft tannins, and not much else. Evolved slightly over 60 minutes, with more secondary aromatics, but still not showing much fruit. Will try decanting next bottle longer to see if it helps at all, but not sure this has much left to show.

PnP at the Earle. Deep red with slight cloudiness and bricking at the edges. Slightly muted nose began to come alive after about 30 min in glass with floral, earthy, and leathery notes. A bit on the rustic side, acid-driven, with iron, earth, and sour cherries. Pleased with how well this is holding up.

Really fun wine. Complex spicy nose, and a huge variety of flavors on the energetic palate, starting with rich black cherries, and evolving between leathery/earthy notes, raisin and spice cake, and smoky herbs. 15% alcohol, yet totally in balance.

Nice NV bubbly. On the richer side, favoring brioche and toasty nuttiness. This may have been an older bottle, though it was stored well, perhaps giving more of the oxidative notes?

This was fun. 40 year old wine from Manetti’s first Pergole Torte bottling? Why not? A bit of earthy funk and spice on the nose. Tertiary flavors of black tea, savory spices, and still a touch of soft red cherry. Fully integrated tannins. Drink up.

Light and airy with fresh citrus and pear notes. Super fine bubbles, precise minerality and acidity, and nice toasty notes on the long finish. Lovely.

Xmas eve dinner with roasted duck. 1 hr decant. Expressive floral and black fruit nose. Mineral focused palate with rich black cherries. Tannin still present. A bit bigger than expected and perhaps a touch hot (vintage heat?). Very nice.

PnP from 375. Deep red with just slightest bit of brick king. Complex aromas of spice, black cherries and a touch of menthol. Powerful on the palate with just right balance of firm tannins starting to integrate. Splendid with truffled sausage and cheeses.

PnP at the Earle. Beautiful from first sip, and tasting well above its village level. Light and fresh and wonderfully balanced. Crushed strawberries, earth, and spice. Truly a pleasure to drink.

Love this wine. Alive and kicking, with plenty of red fruit, nice savory aromatics, and a cool smoky funkiness that makes Pepe so fun. Need to get more old Pepe!

PnP. Beautiful nebbiolo nose increasingly expressive of roses, tar, and baking spices over 2hrs. Big palate of ripe cherry fruit yet wonderfully balanced with fresh acidity and minerality. Nicely integrated tannic structure.

PnP at Spencer. Chunks in first pour remind why I dislike wax capsule.
Medium body garnet red color. Muted earthy aromas at first, but beautiful smoky and red cherry notes evolved over 1.5 hrs. Interesting mix of red and dark fruit on palate with nice savory/smoky finish.

Nice but subdued floral nose. Spiced honey notes and pear with strong mineral finish - alcohol stands out a bit at 13.5%. Very good now but I think should improve. A steal for $10
