Wow. This is drinking great now. Dark fruits, smooth as silk, and almost full bodied.

I bought this in DC, at Weygandts. Peter Weygandt remains the best importer in the US! I don't have any financial interest with him, I am simply thrilled that his store is five minutes away.

The 2019 Burgundies are on fire right now.

Another excellent Marsannay from 2019. This review is based on leftover wine I put in the fridge for a week, and am now having it....after an hour at room temp. (Opened the bottle, poured half in a decanter, and vacuvined the rest and put in fridge).

Full bodied, silky, a mix of red and dark fruits. It's really good.

Believe it or not....this still needs two more years. I am drinking it now. Tons of fruit but still too much tannin on the finish.

Pavelot wines are for the long haul......which I might not make.

I find California universally awful. If I want hard liquor I will order a scotch. They are simply awful.....just had to say it.

Med to medium full bodied. Needs 45 min decant/breathing. Good, expansive fruit. Decent finish with just some fine tannins. This is still a bit young, would like to see it in a year or two.

Considering the price, this is a great deal.

I am editing this as I drink it. It really opens up. This is an absolute steal. (still only one glass...so still accurate).

This is perfectly fine. Broad expansive fruit and ready to go. That said, it's not my style. Reminds me more of a West Coast Pinot than a Nuit St. Georges.

This is absolutely wonderful. It's in It's prime, or almost.

I am not good at taste descriptors but I will say the nose is pure, and the tannins are silky.....and the wine is pure Burgundy pleasure. I wish they were all like this.

Upon opening, the nose had the over the hill quality. After a decant and 45 min breath, this really opened up. It's rich, almost full bodied, and still has a nice background tannin structure. I would say this is just past peak, but still outstanding.

EDIT....This is definitely on it's last legs. I just opened a 2015 Lumpp Givey premier cru and it blows it away. None of that mushroom nose. Drink up on the Joblot.

This wine is almost too young.

It had been stored by a collector at 55 degrees Fahrenheit its entire life.

It is massive...with zero amber or bricking.

Bordeaux is simply the best wine on the planet.

I opened a bottle last night and wrote a scathing review, since deleted. Then I realized what an idiot I was because I only gave it 20 minutes breathing. It was thin and tart. I am having the rest of that bottle now, after a decant and a one hour breath. It excellent, and getting better and better. That tells me this needs more age. He is known for long lived wines, and I see why.

Today, this is on the lower end of medium bodied, so match food accordingly.

This is fantastic. There are some fine tannins that need to be resolved, but when they are this will just be great. It drinks very nice now with a decant, but wait 2 more years if you can. This is a fantastic value, in Burgundy terms.

Despicable. I am disgusted with Burgundy reviews. Does anybody "get it"?

This was OK, nothing more. There are so many excellent Bourgogne level wines in this vintage that I would not buy it again. You can do better, cheaper. It just came off a bit astringent.

This is wonderful! Dark red fruit, satiny, long. What an absolute steal for $20.

Thin. Yes, I know this is young, but I don't think it will put on much weight.

I am now going to judge Burgundy on a much harsher scale. They are getting away with too many good reviews for bad wine.

I recant my previous note. This is thin, and has no fruit.

I love Burgundy, but now I know why Parker turned on them. I will no longer judge in context of vintage....I was looking for positives amoungst the massive negatives.

Bad vintage in Burgundy...thin wine. This is thin wine.

This is way too young. I am scrapping tannins off my cheekbones.

I suspect this will be a fantastic villiage wine.

This is excellent. Still too young, and litterally just opened. Nose is expansive. Palate is mocha, dark fruits, and long. In three more years this will be incredible.

I agree totally with Clive Coates. I think he uses too much oak. It hides the wonderful fruit. I will hold my final bottle for 5 years. Maybe things will change.

This is almost drinking at peak. After 90 minutes it really opens up. Beautiful silky tannins, and nice acid to keep it alive and fresh. Red fruit and cotton candy. Very nice length. Light but very nice. A best buy. Drink now-2021.

Nice, solid Bordeaux. Does not seem to have the wow factor, though. Fairly priced, I'll get another bottle and sit on it. Good length, dark fruits, leather, good acid and tannin. Maybe 10 more years in it.

Well, terroir exists. The Axaux reminds me of a West Coast Pinot. The nose seems identical. It drinks fine, but to my taste this is partial burgundy. It is totally sound, but not my style. Give me Teurons anyday.

This is drinking wonderfully. There is plenty of acid and silky tannins to assure more development. Med-full bodied, long silky finsh with a touch of acid driven pepper. Probablly improves over 5 more years, and gies until 2025.

Deep ruby with slight bricking on the edges. Nose of dark fruits. Drinking as I write - plenty of delicious dark fruit mixed with still enormous tannins. The drinking window of 2028 might be generous, but 2020 definitely. Maybe some of the prior reviews reflect improper storage? This rocks right now, and I cannot wait for it to get better, and better.

This is med/med-full bodied. My subjective taste descriptors are dark berry, leather, and cassis on the nose. Catcher's mit, just a touch. Taste is deep, elegant, moderately long, and definitely wonderful. It is drinking very smoothly now, close to satin but not quite yet. There is some sediment. There is zero bricking, or amber on the edges yet.

Earth on the nose, fullish body, darker fruit, , good acidity, good finish. It's a $20 Bourgogne. What's not to like? This is wonderful.

I am giving this an 88 because, in CA terms, at this price, it is. That doesn't mean I totally like it. It still hints at that ruiness modern CA style, with that touch of medicinal black cherry. In terms of CA, this is pretty good. It's big and rich, albeit one dimensional, aka cherry fruit, like most CA wine. I wish CA producers would re-evalute and lower the alcohol back to 12.5-13%. This is not what wine should taste like. God knows most Bordeaux and all Burgundy doesn't, in comparison to
CA Pinot. This is not what the classic CA Cabs from '80's and early '90's tasted like either. Sorry for the soap box.

Three years old and drinking like satin. This is just so pure and wonderful and surprising. I try not to write taste descriptors because they are so subjective. But most would agree with ripe red berries. After an hour or so it opens up and is long and expansive. Need to get more and wait three more years. Acid, fruit and tannin are all there. I can only imagine.

Reading the prior reviews, I must have lucked out. I just picked this up an hour ago, sitting alone on the shelf for $24...thinking either it will be awful, or I just found one of those great deals you hear about. It was the latter.

This is drinlking very nicely. Satiny, good body, good fruit, and none of the acid previously mentioned. It's six years old, and in it's prime now, but drink up.

Drinking very nicely, plenty of dark fruit, and some leather. The tannins have a velvety presence. I am not experiencing what previous tasters seemed to have. I am very pleased with this, almost shocked considering what I payed for it. It reminds me of the old days when these kinds of wines with age were everywhere, affordable. That said, I am no Rioja expert, seems like a region I need to investigate with more seriousness. I am buying more and forgetting about them for 4-5 years. I'll bet I will be rewarded.

Tart cherry and berry, in a good way. The word juicy comes to mind. Paired wonderfully with a simple roast chicken. I'm looking for a weekday Burgundy, this is a top candidate.

Ready to go, with a few more years of improvement. This is drinking like a premier crus. Dark fruits, some pomegranate, and spice on the finish. Big and rich. The best village level wine I have ever had. I don't have much experience with aging my wine, just cannot do it, so I won't predict an end date, but 2020 seems perfectly reasonable with its fine but present tannins. Wow.

Drinking wonderfully. Nose is a bit muted, color dark ruby with a touch of pink on the edges. The tannins are still there, soft, but there, as well as gobs of fruit. The drinking window listed, as far as my bottle is concerned, is fast. This could improve for years, and last until 2022? Or more.

Edit - later. Zero sediment. Years to go...this is an underrated Chateau.

This wine is mature now. Very nice. I have had many mature Burgundys, but they were all Premier Crus. I'm a bit amazed at what I am experiencing right now. Even a lowly Bourgogne can provide "the burgundy experience" if you drink it at the proper time. I can't imagine this has much time left, maybe a year? Right now, it is the perfect protection wine for your Premiers and Grands.
