Lots of potential here. Hold to 2025 or 26.

This took some time to change from an uninteresting muted nose that could have been confused with Cru Beaujolais to singing in the glass. My French friend nailed it when he described it as a baby CdP. A gorgeous wine with time or air.

Lovely. Showing some oak, but quickly came together in the glass. Creamy lemon custard, and acidity that sneaked in through the back door.

Popped and poured, started off very rustic with gritty tannins and lots of barnyard and earthy notes. At some point it turned a corner and showed lots of bright red fruit and good acid structure. Fun wine, especially for the price.

Serviceable pizza wine!

Coming together nicely! Still has massive upside to more cellar time.

Packed with potential. Aromas explode with the pull of the cork. I get lots of apple/pear on the nose, with a barest hint of honeycomb. Good acidity that sneaks up on you, and seemed more pronounced the second night. I love these wines when they have some age on them, opening this was just a frivolity, and the others will be comfortable in the cellar for quite some time.

Very rustic on opening with lots of barnyard and virtually no fruit. Big tannins. Eventually the fruit emerges after an hour. Lovely concentrated cherry framed by all the tannins and barnyard.

Wow. In a gorgeous place, showing all sorts of candied cherries. Still plenty of grip, and held up well over the evening, so no hurry to guzzle. But also why wait?

Direct lemon flavor with strong acid. Yeast and mushroom notes on the nose. Good weight but one wishes for complexity.

What a treat to drink this from magnum with good friends! Probably the most elegant Zin on the planet, harmonious and polished. I love the way the oak plays, alternately smoothing out the texture and spicing up the finish (which also features cran and cherry flavors alongside the spicy oak).

No specific notes tonight, but drank well even after a wonderful 2007 Ridge Lytton Springs from magnum.

Hard to put a number on this right now. Vibrant nose from the get go, but pretty thin and one dimensional in the mouth. Much more complex and interesting hours later. Probably deserves to be cellared to 2022 and beyond.

Maybe not the most complex tasting (lovely apple and slate), but perfectly balanced acid and just a hint of sweetness.

PnP from 750. Lovely, long, and I was especially charmed by the nose, which aside from very classy toasted brioche aromas showed some gorgeous floral scents which I can only describe as "white flowers." Definitely a great way to celebrate a special event!

Loads of potential. Held its own alongside a DRC Echezeaux from 2008. It was a long night, and I don't have detailed notes, but this was good from the start and amazing after a couple of hours. This has real polish and finesse in the wine-making, I've always found his cheaper wines on the charmingly rustic side. Hold to 2022.
Red
Nothing really to add here. It's always special to drink such storied wine in good company. Feeling lucky.

Probably the top wine of my life, blew away the DRC Echezeaux 2008 from the night before. So complex and compelling, showing a huge spectrum of flavors from the big heavy meaty to bright berries. All the while it feels silky and supple. I'm just blown away! Given the big tannins, I think it will continue to impress for decades.

A restrained Sauternes, with tangerine and almond and honey. Creamy texture, with a just a hint of acid. I say restrained because, while the flavors are there, they aren't IN YOUR FACE, which was perfect for this evening.

This was a big hit last night. Lots of character on the nose, including some pickle juice, and almost a smoky-meaty character along with its floral, graphite, and cedar notes. More typically Bordeaux in the mouth, and a long finish. Decanted an hour or so and was drinking beautifully young, so I wouldn't be afraid to drink now or hold for another 5 years.

No flaws, but not a whole lot of flavor and frankly a bit boring.

Another great year of this consistently lovely wine. You can smell the apples and pears and honeycomb from a mile away. At first taste, I was worried that this was a flabbier version, but the acidic components are lurking just underneath, giving the mid palette a gorgeous lift.

Bright candied red fruits on the nose, and a complimentary depth and spicy darkness on the palette. Medium tannic grip finishes this serious wine with appropriate gravitas.

Rich lemony nose, and this has seen some oak, methinks. A bit one-dimensional, but delicious.

This is rocking. Complete infanticide, it definitely deserves five more years of cellar time, but we lovingly decanted for five hours. Dark brooding nose, with intimations of brighter fruit jumping out. Big tannins on the tongue, but huge mineral-driven fruit once again showing deep blues accented by bright red berries.

We had to wait for the big hit of sulphuric flatulence to blow off, but this was a real charmer once it did. The bubbles seemed a bit tired, but the wine itself was drinking young and fresh. Well balanced Meyer lemon and fresh bread on nose and palette.

Nice for the price, but leaving a bit of a blah impression. It's neither crisp nor flabby, and the light lemon flavors are a bit muddled, perhaps with a bit of oak influence.

This is LEGIT. Great texture, mid-weight. Complexity shown with flavors of rocks and forest floor.

I found this on the ripe, jammy side of the spectrum...so if that's the way you like your PN then by all means back the truck up and enjoy.

Dry and crisp and wonderful. Rich mouthfeel. The nose seemed non-existent, but that may have been the fault of overly huge glassware.

Weighty and bone dry, but unfortunately oxidized. You can coax some good rubber ball and apple from the nose, but the palette, though wonderfully textured, is quite boring and flat.

Huge earthy tannins cloak a wonderful core of dark berry. Either we got used to those tannins or it calmed down after 20 or 30 minutes in the glass. The nose is very attractive if not overly complex or flamboyant.

The nose is unattractively jammy, much more a Zinfandel nose than a PN. However, it does drink well. Good acid, a bit reductive, plush and fruity. An excellent value for a PN more suited to summer grilling than fine dining.
