First taste reminded me immediately of cherries, as in cherry flavored cough syrup. That is not all bad as I find the cherry flavored cough syrup quite palatable, but not what I was expecting. Fortunately the wine opened quickly and was much better although I did not make notes. Will try to add a further comment after I drink the rest of the bottle with dinner tonight. - 2nd night - some slightly sharp tannins ( or is it tainted?). very little fruit.

Seems to be in decline but mostly needs some air. The nose was not particularly nice on opening but improved with a little time. Drank over 2 nights.

Drinking very well which surprised me based on some recent postings. Certainly no reason to wait, but not time to panic either.

No notes but it was a splendid wine!

Medium bodied, fully aged. PNP and the wine needed to open in the glass. Terrific!

Opened this after a terrific Guigal COte Rotie. By comparison the Neyers was too solid and simple. Still a quite good wine, but he Cote Rotie was better.

Straightforward red wine with pleasant flavors and no tannin.

Wow! PNP in a fine Mediterranean restaurant. The owner had been to the winery last summer. On opening the nose was nice but not terribly forthcoming. It improved but remained reticent. The flavors evolved and became mouthfilling without being heavy. Tannins were fully integrated. Opaque. A little sediment. Absolutely wonderful. We gave the owner a glass.

Last bottle from the wine purchased for my Dad's Celebration of Life several years ago. Dad, thanks for everything!

Required some serious decanting to coax out the beauty of this wine.

pnp at a restaurant. First glass started off to fruity but improved inside of 10 minutes. Nice balance between fruit and tannin. No trouble for 2 to finish the bottle.

Simple and nicely drinking. PNP with no decanting, which it does not need. Was ready right after opening. Medium bodied, opaque, dark fruits, excellent nose. Great for casual consumption.

My bottle was much better than the 82 point review. We shared the wine after a Thai dinner.

Winery Notes as of 10/2019: New release, after extensive bottle aging, in growing tradition of intensely floral and firmly tannic Petit Verdot varietal wines. The latest in a series of outstanding DuCard PV vintages.

First of two bottles that have been in a secluded corner of the cellar. After a musty nose blew off, this proved to be a delicious, medium to full bodied barolo. Very glad to have the second bottle!
